We were very excited to upgrade to Top Producer 8i - but the going hasn't been easy.  So many of the features from earlier versions are just not intuitive or not there.  I know it is always a big trial and error to make changes (LOL-like changing your brokerage)....however, the process has not been as smooth as it should be.  Some of the simplest things like why can't they have a search by subdivision...there isn't even a good field for it that is easy to use and find.  Oh, and why can't you print out the name and contact information from the contact record...not really that hard...but they make it hard.  It would be nice to be able to cut and paste contact info - like for a lender to an email.  Alas, I feel when I call customer service it falls on deaf ears.  Don't get me wrong I love TP8i....but it could be a lot easier!

I quit TP and will never go back. Its badly programmed and horribly outdated.

It doesnt even connect to outlook and yet claims to be a contact management system? Hah.

I put off switching over to 8i until I signed-in and it came up instead of 7i.  I felt like I didn't have the time to learn the new version.  Now I'm frustrated because I can't navigate the system at the same speed as before.  If I had made the swith earlier I would have just experienced the frustration earlier! It seems I've become one of those old dogs who doesn't want to learn new tricks.

I am having a very hard time navigating this system.  I am giving myself to the end of the month and if the ease of navigation isn't any better, I'm done with it.  Very frustrating!!!  I used to do mailouts with just a couple clicks.  This time I can't even get a label printed that will fit Avery 5160.  Goes off the top!!!

I tried connecting to 7i and it automatically brings up the 8i screen when I log in.  Anyone have a hint on how to do it??

Hello Yvette!

I find TP 7i was great and TP8i is even better all around I mean. Whenever there is growth...it comes with growing pains.  You can send TP program suggestions anytime, I found that learning anything new can be frustrating and it is true there are a few things that 8i does not have that 7i does have..but, there are so many features that 8i has that 7i does not!  Like being able to work directly from the Home page and working in additional Tabs...and not having to download attachments and save them before you view them.  But, everyone runs there business different.

Yvette... I do NOT like the 8i program as well as I do 7i.. I can't find many of the features that are in 7i and it take so much longer to navigate around the 8i and still can't get what you need in a timely manor

8I is terrible.  Here's my impression:  Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Click, Scream.  Repeat.

Yvette, Like many others , I am sick to death of 8I already and looking for a new contact software system.  I resent paying the monthly fee and now it seems unreasonably difficult to use.  I hope someone proposes a better choice.  I would love a better choice.  Joe

When I see Post like this, it really does make me sad. 8i has it bad points, so does every software. I hear lot of you talk about going to some other software, and yet you don't stop to think how long it will take you to learn that new software. Learning anything new in life takes time. Every one hate change because there is a learning curve. You only say 7i is easier is due to the fact you know it. It was the same as 6i. Every one would complain 6i was so much easier then 7i, when it first came out, now there singing its praises.

The biggest reason why 8i requires so many click is becasue it wizard drive. The reason why TP did this, is to make it eaiser for your average user to use. The reason why they did this was to make it easier to manage. I hate to say this, but more then often your typical user get over whelmed by too many field and can't seem to find the simplist things on the screen. I know this becasue I worked there for many years. I saw the transition from 5.1 to 69 etc. I would handle many calls that I would just roll my eye at becasue people wouldn't see the simplist things.

You see by make you look at 1 field it allow you to fill it in and move to the next screen. Yes some of you might be a little more computer savy then other, but I can tell you 90% of you are not. Unfortantly we have to cater to the lowest common denomiantor.

If you are haveing problem with the software I suggest going to www.topproducercampus.com

They have lots of training there that is free.

It is not about training - it is about functionality.  There are actually things you CAN'T do in 8i that you could in 7i!  They have been working on them - but slow and still not up to snuff.

The number of steps for simple task is unreasonable - one team member has arthritis and this program is simply a burden.  The fact that you can't print out a simple address list without 5-6 steps or a label is ridiculous - not training related.

Also, training won't create a field for subdivision - come on - what agents doesn't need to search by subdivision?

I would like to see the support staff use the www.topproducercampus.com however, sometimes I feel like I am training them when I call about a problem.
