What is a referral worth to you? ...thinking out loud

When you get a referral, regardless of the source is it worth half your commission, 25%, 10% of your commission?

This is the question I constantly battle with!!

yes, the referral IS business I might not have gotten otherwise,

yes, if it is from a business partner, it will keep them happy if the referral likes me.

But....what is all this worth?  

Sometimes referrals are the BEST!  MOST of the time they are wonderful!

there is always that one that drives you nuts and then you know in the back of your mind, that you are giving up 35% (or whatever) to the referring person/agency!
