Spring Clean-Up-a starting point for sale

As we start into spring and the weather breaks many home owners over the years have asked what to do fist to help make their home more marketable.

The first thing people see is outside appearance...and is where I recommend home sellers start.

The outside appearance could be the difference between a prospective buyer wanting to schedule an appointment or not.

Raking the yard, picking up leaves, removing fallen branches and spreading new grass seed is a good start including freshly mulching flower beds.A baron landscape does not present an appealing "Let's take a look at that one" impression to potential buyers.Plants that are currently in bloom can be reasonably purchased at many home stores or garden shops and add much to that first impression.

For those without much yard space....the color of spring flowers in planters or pots can add a warming touch to a baron entry way......let's not forget a fresh coat of paint on the front door-maybe a "new"Brass kick plate,"new" brass door knocker and lock set[today many homeowners choose "pewter" accessories over brass]

These few inexpensive ideas can go a long way in obtaining that most important....first impression of the home.

Don't forget to get the Beware of Dog sign out of the front dog. That will help, too. I have a vacant listing with such signs in both the front and the back doors. I'm afraid I'll break the glass trying to pry them off. Any suggestions?
