When I did my meme, I left out the answer to "I miss," because what I was missing, among other things, was my morning walk. Talk the Walk or Walk the Talk?
So yesterday, with camera in hand, I took a neighborhood walk around Cheswolde.

This house on Taney Road was a double challenge to sell – it was an unusual shape and style, having been designed by the architect/owner, and the condition inside made it an "as is" sale. Now the buyers are adding a lot more space and completely changing its look.

We have plenty of variety in Cheswolde, including the "Clone-onials" that Baltimore loves so much, like this one. This McMansion used to be two houses! Now it dwarfs its next door neighbors.

Everywhere you look, there are additions, some small like a back porch entrance, and some so large they dominate. Hmm….I wonder if they asked a child to draw the addition below, and then gave that plan to the builder? And then there are the blank spaces where a house used to be. Wait awhile – there will be another house soon.

Since I did a blog on "Pop Up "homes more than a year and a half ago, there have been plenty of changes that illustrate some good advice: If you love your location, there is no reason to move. Make the house the way you want it, or raze it and build from scratch.
As someone once said, "They just are NOT building making any new land"

Margaret -- thanks for the tour around your neck of the woods. I enjoyed seeing the different types of homes. It is true that they are not building any new land where I live either. However, there are lots of opportunities for new urbanism to flourish in the older sections of Nashua -- but that will take some time and creativity on the part of the developers.
