The beauty in Belize's rain forest

This summer I had the opportunity to go on a cruise to Belize a country in Central America. The country is very poor. One of the greatest things I did in that country was to drive one hour to the caverns and the underground river. They offered River tubing. It was a wonderful experience consisting of sitting in a tube with head flashlight and meandering down the river. The river goes underground through the caverns. With the light you are able to see the beautiful formations within the caverns above and all around you. It was awesome especially seeing the bats which were housed way up in the caverns.Remember it was pitch black and these nocturnal mammals thought it was nighttime. Any one who travels to Belize must definitely do this Underground river tubing. If you do it with the cruise ship the price is 160.00. If you get your own cab and tour guide the price is reduced to 35.00. As a past cruiser I always do my own excursions. You get tour guides that are knowledgeable and always make your tour a little more special. You don't have to strain to hear the cruise tour guide that is trying to talk to 150 people at once.I recommend this tour very much!
