With hurricane Hanna almost here, everything has shut down.  Schools and banks were closed today.  On my way home from work I stopped by Food Lyon, only to find it all boarded up.  Wal-Mart is also closed.  All of the stores are all closed and/or boarded up.  Great!

I called Jay's Asian Fusion, my favorite Japanese/Thai/Chinese Restaurant and they are still open.  That's the spirit!  We'll have sushi tonight.  Sushi goes well with a movie, and guess what?  Blockbuster is still open tonight.  The friendly Blockbuster attendant said they'll stay open unless there is Mandatory Evacuation.

Great!  It's sushi and a movie night, but first let me sneak in a little jog.  Hanna's not here YET!

Mirela, NOT scared of Hanna in Myrtle Beach!

Thank you Jennifer!  I feel it, I feel it!

The jogging didn't work; it's raining too much...  I jumped rope and did yoga instead.

I'll come back here and post updates on the weather as long as I have electricity.

What's the weather going to be like tomorrow?  I will be heading that way. Nothing like a vacationing in a hurricane.

Jeff, I say you get a refund: Ike is coming next week...

Debbie:  Thank you!  I hope so too.  Pray for Ike to change his course!

Gary:  You bet!  We saw Penelope and absolutely loved it!

I fell asleep after the movie and when I woke up I found my home all lit up like a Christmas tree with candles all over.  I thought my boyfriend was being romantic, but no:  he's just prepared for the storm....

The rain comes on very strong at times, almost like waves: it hits hard, then softens up, then hits hard again, just like a woman's emotions...  What do you know: Hanna is the right name for it!

I wonder how Ike will act.

I just didn't get to jog tonight.  I wanted to.  The sky was so amazing, ominous, really...  Dark, dark clouds and there was a quietness and a stillness in the air.  It was quite enticing, but by the time I changed into my jogging outfit it started pouring and it's been raining ever since.  Darn!

I'm in my home, which is shelter enough.  My office is less than a mile from the beach and I hope all is well there!  My home is about 7 minutes to the beach, so I'm not that close.

After that last BIG hurricane I went to the beach as soon as the storm ended and took numerous pictures that early morning.  The top of the Cherry Grove pier had landed a couple of miles away on an Ocean Drive stretch of the beach by Tilghman Estates.  The tattered flag was still attched way at the top of it.  I watched as this young woman climbed up on it and retrieved the flag.  She had tears in her eyes.  I started talking with her.  Turned out she was one of the Princes (the family who owns the pier).  She had that stoic look on her face and said:  We'll rebuild it!

...And they did, better than ever!

That's the spirit around here.  The storms come, they move boats and buildings, and piers, and leave behind a mess sometimes.  The people here they are quiet and nice, but they have grit and determination.  I love the South and I'm proud to be one of them, even though I'm "adopted"!

The hip will not get better until your spine is fully adjusted.  If one leg is longer than the other because your spine is misaligned, or one shoe is thicker than the other, you are still going to have hip and back issues.  If your chiropractor hasn't solved this yet, find another one who will.  Within two visits (three days) you should be feeling a LOT better.

I'm getting off the Internet...watching the tube now....bye!

1:20am • #27

Hell0 again...I'm still here....

I will try to see the chiropracter Monday or Tuesday.

Is the wind howling?

Ike is going to Florida.  So I will be fine. Do you have any recommendations for good restaurants that serve crab?

I love you guys!  I've received e-mails and comments from you, my friends, worried about my safety and it feels good to know that you care!  Thank you!

Around 2:30 this morning it got pretty bad with very strong gusts of wind knocking hard on my windows, like it was trying to get inside.  I must confess, I was a bit "uncomfortable".  It died down after 3:30, when I finally went to bed...  with my window open!

We are having a beautiful day today, sunny and gorgeous, nice and warm - 82 degrees.  I hear that Ike is no longer coming to visit us and that is really good news.

Thank you for the e-mails and comments on my two "hurricane" blogs!  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful AR family!

Mirela, stay safe and dry! I remember my Florida days and Virginia storms. Blockbuster would be open even if the tornado that caught Dorothy were to touch down--they are the 7-11 of our generation. Be well!
