I have been considering this for some time. If you have read my other blogs you realize that my business has been built by helping others build their businesses as well as ensuring that my clients best interest are always served. We all know that this is a great time for first time home buyers since the inventory and prices allows them more choices. The issue is how do you get in front of these people. Well that is a subjectthat I have brainstormed with many people on. I got a ton of great ideas from many different business people. The reality is simple. The way to get to those people is to show them value. Show them that your goal is education and that the only goal you have in the beginning. To educate them on the market and to educate them on the loans available to them to reach their desires of home ownership. NO PUSH just education. This is something that I find lacks from many professionals in the real estate and mortgage industry. It is sad since that education will allow prospects to become clients and then if done correctly RAVING FANS.

So how do you get to these people? The answer is simple. Ask your business contacts, past clients and relatives. To talk to the people that they know that are renting and have them ask them one simple question (How do you like renting?). Once they answer with a less then positive answer then have your contact at that time talk about you and what you do and how your different since you educate. Then have your contact tell their contact that they will be sending and email introduction to you and the prospect to start the education process. Sounds simple it is.

I would love to hear the feedback of others.

The reality is there are still 100% financing programs out on the market. VA loans. USDA loans YES YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED WHAT THEY CONSIDER RURAL. So in the end there is a great deal to educate a prospect about and to get them to the next stage of their goal of home ownership.

So if you have any contacts in MA and want to introduce them to me feel free and I will make them RAVING fans.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Helping the first time homebuyer is pretty much where the rubber meets the road for me.  I assisted some renters with a colleague's rent to own program, he bought a home for them, their first, and at the end of the lease they should be in a position to purchase.  Seeing how they were good tenants whose landlord didn't pay their mortgage, it was a pleasure to help them.

Great post!  Keep it up
