Hurricane Grill & Wings Fleming Island, Orange Park

As I was driving around Fleming Island today looking for a place to eat lunch, I found that the new Hurricane Grill & Wings just opened. It's located behind Home Depot on Town Center Pkwy, near the intersection of East-West Pkwy.  The restaurant's atmosphere reminds me of kicking back with some margaritas in Key West. There is plenty of sports action with approximately a dozen big screen TV's. The food is good with their specialty being their wings and with over 31 flavors it's easy to find your favorite. Hurricane Grill & WingsHurricane Grill & WingsHurricane Grill & Wings

Hey Robert, I went by that restaurant today and it was packed! My son wanted to go to Pita Pit and when we walked in to a near empty Pita Pit, I was thinking, "They had better figure out what Hurricane is doing."  In fairness to Pita, the Gator game was beginning and I think Hurricane serves beer? We're really getting some great new restaurants on the Island! Now if we had only gotten Bone Fish....

Sharon - thanks for commenting. It would be great if fleming Island would get a Bone Fish.

31 flavors of wings? Holy chicken, Batman! My Partner would love that place, although it looks like they don't have enough "Seek Shelter" wings for him.

Pita is doing very well. They have brought the concept of FRESH THINKING and HEALTHY EATING to us!!! Which I know, we all could use at times. I was so excited Pita Pit had come to Fleming Island, I have eaten there almost everyday they have been open!!! Great lunch idea for anyone on the Island or visiting the area. You should try!!!

Hurricanes has potential to be a great place. Unfortunately, way too many Critical Health Violations time after time for me to even stomach eating there. Pita Pit is a sandwhich shop, not a sports bar! Sports bars tend to be packed during big games. We all know how Jacksonville is called North Gainesville with all the fans here! In fairness to Pita Pit of course. But in all fairness, each are very good places to dine. Very different. I choose healthy, clean and fresh, but to each his own.
