We've been to the office and Kathy put everything back to normal. (Well, what constitutes normal for our group), All the computers are back online, although Kathy's having a small glitch with one of our older desktops. Judy was in the office this morning and Bob was taking over this afternoon for floor duty.

We drove the island and checked on our client's houses and everyone seems to have come out of the storm relatively unscathed. We do have some shingle issues to take care of, but again, whew!!!

We drove over to Sunrise Watch (where Barnacle Bill's used to be - boy, can you spot a long time Topsail Island fan when they mention Barnacle Bill's), took a few photos and will post them here. Really, the beach is fine and taking into account that the photos were taken midway between high and low tide with high surf, it looks pretty good.

We were prepared here in VA Beach too!  We are all lucky it wasn't worse.  Haven't been to Topsail and Wilmington in a while, your pictures are making me want to take a road trip!

I'm glad to hear that the storm and passed and everything is back to normal. My fingers are crossed about Ike hitting Florida.

Glad things are getting back to normal and that you were not hit hard.   They have reduced the amount of rain initially forcast so outside of much needed rain we should be ok in regards to flooding.  Now I just I hope Ike will behave if it comes our way.

Rand,

So far it sounds like everyone is just dealing with high surf and a lot of rain. That's good.

Anna, you are so right, it could have been so much worse. glad you liked the photos!

Vickie, positive thoughts, crossed fingers, voodoo dolls with Ike's name on them, whatever we've got to ward off that storm.

Judi, we could have used a little more rain as well, but from the forecasts for next week, it looks as though we will have our typical summer like thunderstorms. As for Ike, keep that away!

We can all deal with high surf and rain. It's that potential for Cat 2 and up that bother me. Right?

Shannon, we will be watching Ike carefully for the next week and sending positive thoughts your way. We spend some time in December in Sanibel/Captiva and visit in Naples occasionally. What a beautiful area.

Courtney, thanks for the good thoughts. As you could tell by my post title, we were happy that Hanna was soft hearted.
