Being married to a long haul trucker leaves you a lot of time on your hands once the kids have moved away. Today I had to take my hubby to Terrebonne to pick up his truck after it was serviced. He left for his week directly which left me most of Sunday afternoon to enjoy the sites, us locals tend to take for granted. Last week I posted photos from this area near sunset, but today we are back mid-afternoon.
Central Oregon is known for it's quirky weather. On minute it is raining, then snowing then the sun is out and the sky is bright blue, today was no exception to that. We had it all!
These two photos were taken from the main road into the Smith Rock State Park - I am actually parked in front of the camp host trailer and standing on the running boards of the truck for height. I think of this as the forgotten mountain. When people think of Central Oregon and mountain views, they think of Mt. Bachelor, The Three Sisters and possibly Broken Top. You do not hear much of this spectacular view.
