OK, I have to ask... Is it "POINTS" or "CONTENT"???

To write for POINTS or CONTENT???   That is the question...

I have read a number of blogs that were asking how to earn points and others that talked about the quality of the content... I figured it was time to compress the information and tie it all together. OK, lets review...If you write blogs or respond to blogs you get points (there are other ways, but this is just about the blog points)...

  • 25 for replying to someone else's blog (you can respond to 10 in a single day)
  • 200 points for witting your own blog (you can write 10 in a single week)
  • 400 Points if your blog becomes a featured blog...
  • 6 points (I think) for people that respond to YOUR blog

So there are some good points to be had, but you get the most by writing something that other people think enough of to write a comment to and keep the conversation alive. Lets write about things that help us build our business and help others in some substantial way... Don't just write things to get points, HELP EACH OTHER (and the points will come in time)!!!

HAPPY BLOGGING

Most of the time I write for content and not points. Now when the land rush was going on I needed points fast to be the first available.

How about points and content? Can't we do both?

Good point Richard.  Writing about topics people find interesting will get you the points and not just to get points.

I write what I write and if I get comments fine, but I try to write more to get clients and I can tell you I thank Activerain everyday when I get up and see the new leads in my inbox.

I comment on others blogs to build friendships that later can be people I will refer to if I get business in their area or hopefully they will send business my way if they get it. Today alone I sent three referrals to other agents across the country that I had met in the rain.
