Why we need Palin and McCain

I usually do not like to get political on these boards, however this election at this time is critical for the growth of our industry.

We NEED McCain and Palin.

Several Key points

1) Even if you don't buy into the misnomer that they only care about big business. Republicans are better for business. When businesses grow they add new jobs, when new jobs are created people begin to relocate and move up to new larger homes. A Barack Obama presidency would lead to higher corporate taxes which lead businesses to relocate their profitable SBU's to tax havens such as the Caribbean's or numerous European and Asian countries. Whether it is right or wrong to move jobs overseas is not the issue. Higher corporate taxes=loss of jobs.

2) When Republicans do a bailout you know it was the last resort. With the pending bailout of Fannie and Freddie coming at the last moment before a complete collapse. Republicans prefer to let the open market and business innovation drive the economy. Obama (with the best intentions) would interfere with this process with over regulations, and so much red tape that businesses will not take the inititve to grow the business and in fact may begin counting on the government handout.

3) The housing market will fix itself. The bills being passed are just pulling a band aid of slowly and drawing out the recovery time. Let the foreclosures happen, flush out the junk loans and let the recovery happen. Most of the people losing their home never really owned them. If you owe 300k on a home worth 200k do you really own it? This could be done by 2010, with Obama in office trying to "preserve home ownership" it could linger into 2012-2013.

I am not going to sit hear and say Bush did a good job. I would even argue he is a fiscal liberal with the spending he did over the last 8 years. McCain is not a fiscal liberal. He will curtail spending. Yes McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time, but it is important to dig deeper and look at the 10% he voted against Bush. Also, Obama is ranked as the most liberal senator by a non-partisan think tank.

Make the right choice for our industry and elect McCain Palin!

I don't believe that *anyone* can predict what the candidates will ACTUALLY do for us fiscally.  You admit that Bush, who ran as a member of a party that SAYS it is "small government" and anti-tax-and-spend, gave us the opposite. These are liars and hypocrites we're dealing with.  It worked for Bush, why shouldn't it work for the next.  Campaign promises are nothing but promises.

Politics is a fact of life.  I am glad that we have the ability to voice our views in this great country.  That being said, I don't know that the person who is elected president can influence without the support of both houses.

In my opinion, the house and senate can be blamed for much of what we are seeing today - too much infighting, vacations, personal agendas, etc.  WE AS A PEOPLE need to exercise our rights to vote, but before that WE AS A PEOPLE need to get educated on the process.  Please do not go to the polls ignorant of who you are voting for - look at their platform - look at their record and then decide.

For thr real estate business, McCain is the best choice because of the tax issues.  I think they will define their positions very clearly in the next 30 days.  Buckle your seat belts.

Right now it looks like it could be McCain with a Democrat House and Senate... but not a veto proof majority.  That could be good if McCain stocks up on ink for the veto pen.
