Every spring in Washington DC the capitol comes alive with vibrant colors. Tulips and other flowering plants are seen in abundance surrounding the Capitol, and other nearby federal buildings. Also on the grounds of the capitol is the US Botanic Garden that is not to be missed! If you find yourself in Washington in April, do yourself a favor and stroll the Capitol grounds!

Hi

I was there in May and I loved it. I was just in Australia and their tulips are blooming now.

Bryant - really nice. I love the close up and how the other flowers kind of fade into the background.

Bryant,  I always look forward to the cherry blossoms in the Spring - we have them all over the place as you know - your tulip shot is spectacular,  Karen

Beautiful!  One of my favorite flowers.  I just wish they stayed around longer.

Julie-

Tulips are on of my favorites, along with roses. My Grandfather raised Roses for Show, and I grew up with a love of flowers, plants, and beauty in nature.

Australia is on my wife and My list of travel destinations, I'm Jealous!

Shallow depth of field accomplishes this effect. I'm glad you liked the image!

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed this image. The Cherry Blossoms are also one of my favorites in DC. I am going to try next spring to get up there and shoot them again. When my Wife and I visit up there we usually stay at the Channel Inn on the Southwest Waterfront, Very Nice.
