We decided to take some time off and just get away for our youngest son's 6th birthday. One of our sellers who was very pleased with us selling and closing on his short sale in Port St Lucie Florida, invited us to stay at his vacation rental he owns in Orlando which we have also listed as a short sale.
We were planning to leave very early in the morning on Friday before Labor Day. Well, the phones would not stop ringing long enough for us to forward them to our Virtual Assistant, Marey Hoeppner. Finally, we got out of here about noon. We had another closing, a mail away later in the day so we did not need to be there for the closing. The best part of our whole trip was getting a break from the phone. Marey is so professional, she even had our company message on her phone so no one knew that they were not reaching us. It was the best break to not have to answer our very busy phones!
Staying at the townhouse was a lot of fun, especially for our son who was having a blast running up and down the stairs.
Friday night we went to Medieval Times, a knights on horses tournament dinner show. We have taken all our kids there at different ages but our youngest had not been there. He loves castles and knights fighting so we figured this would right up his alley. And it was a big hit for him.
He picked out a sword he wanted, a dragon and some knights that he collects. The knights doing the tournament and the crowds cheering for their designated knights made it all that much more exciting for our son. They split up the dinner guests into different colored sections of the arena, the colors match to whom your knight will be. Then you cheer for your knight. Of course only one knight gets to win the last battle and it is a story of a prince who is captured by the evil knights and the freed.
They have an exhibit of the medieval lifestyle, like how they cooked, spun wool, made cloth, candles, weapons, carpentry and all kinds of other really interesting things.
One of the highlights was going to SeaWorld. We know SeaWorld like the back of our hand and have yearly passes to go. Shamu is one of my favorite animals in the world. I am always amazed at the Shamu shows and the dolphin shows.... To be continued....photos too of Shamu!...
The first video is the Spanish Dancing Horses, very beautiful and talented equine performance. The second video is the knights fighting. Their stunts are real, the weapons are real and they practise a lot for these fights. Of course, the fighting is a 6 year old boys favorite part of the show!

Katerina, you must take your sone to New York to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They have this totally amazing section with knights in shining armour. Kids adore it! Have a great time in Orlando.
You are such a busy lady Katerina. You deserve a break. I've never been to Medieval Times (there is one in the state I border- Illinois) but for the 2nd year in a row we went to the Renaissance Fair. It is so well done, the fairgrounds where they have it are very well laid out and clean- regular bathrooms which is a big plus in my book and the people who work the fair remain in character.
Once you have walked to the middle you feel like you have been transported back in time. Many of the fairgoers dress in clothing of that time period.
We will go every year....it is well worth the money.
Katerina - I love Medival Times. I am a huge Renaissance Era fan and so is my son. I have not been able to take him, but I really want to. Sounds like you all had a great time.
Katerina, I am glad I was able to help you to be able to take that long deserved break that you and Nestor both needed! It was my pleasure. :) Nice that you were able to enjoy quality family time wiht Tristan and Nestor, sounds like you had fun. Great photos!
Katerina - I've always wanted to go to Medieval Times! Maybe the next time we're in Orlando... So far, our family's favorite attraction is Discovery Cove and Sea World... :)
Looks like you had so much fun!! I've been to that Medieval Times in Orlando :) And glad you finally got the phones forwarded, I chuckled at that statement that your phones were ringing so much you couldn't even get them forwarded to your VA :) LOL.
It's good you were able to get away - and enjoy Son's birthday :) YAY
That sounds like lots of fun and different....my husband is a huge Disney fan (his parents used to take the family to Orlando every year in their motor home). We are past due for a visit and I'm going to make sure we include this in our itinerary. When I'm not reading for motivation, I love history and especially the medieval stuff. Glad you had a fun getaway! Have a great week!
Katerina, I think its great you took some time off with your son to enjoy Medival Times. We attended that show years ago at the Dallas one and really enjoyed the horsemanship and the performance among the Knights.
Bill- Welcome back Bill! It is great to see you around! We have done the Disney thing year after year after year. Disney is our favorite here. We don't even have to do the park thing there. We love to just soak in the atmosphere at the different resorts there. Animal Kingdom is our favorite.
It looks like you all had a good time. Your seats look like they were close to where we sat when we watched the show a couple of years ago. What a great time. By the way, I am still looking forward to talking with you. Give me a call sometime. Thanks!
