Fall is starting to creep into the mountains of Western North Carolina.  Soon the beautiful log homes and 'mountain' homes sprinkled all over the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Canton, Clyde and Lake Junaluska will be beautifully exposed by naked trees.

UPCOMING FALL EVENTS

Haywood County NC Fairgrounds - September 22 thru 29 - Fair

Downtown Waynesville/Main Street - Apple Harvest Festival - October 18

Even though this past weekend was warm, it didn't feel warm when I was photographing this store and it's festive fall displays!  Maggie Mountaineer Crafts in Maggie Valley is a charming country store full of many unique items (don't go there in a hurry!).

Nice photos Susie. See? You will have something to shoot once the flowers are all gone...

Susie,

That shop looks so very inviting; what a great shot!  I miss fall and the changing leaves.

Morning Susie,

We had a country store back home that looked just like that one. They had a wonderful Christmas display, in season and had a wonderful Santa to talk with the children every year. Thanks for recalling the memories.

PS:  What's with the new picture, it makes you look like you are hiding or even worse, spying on us. LOL

Have a great day!

Susie:

I always enjoyed the change of seasons back in New England, especially summer to fall, although I also disliked the end of summer, and not being a winter fan did not relish that. Now I am glad our season change is much more subtle, being in California. Believe it or not there are trees in our area that turn colors and later lose all their leave. But I really appreciate the year round greenery.

Now that footballs are being tossed around I assume it's fall. We'll have temperatures close to 100 for a while but I am beginning to get in that fall mood. I'd love to see the leaves change color. Will you be treating us with the color changing photos?

Susie, I saw your comment on Gary Woltal's secret recipe blog.  I second it!  I truly believe that being a great photographer and a great writer does allow us to market our properties better.  This post is a perfect example.  You make me want to pack up and visit NC so I can see the fall colors - that we dont' get here in my part of TX.

My husband and I were in Maggie Valley in July for my birthday. It is beautiful all the time, but there is nothing like the Fall in the NC mountains!
