I am an avid supporter of Animal Rescue Organizations.  There are many Causes we as Americans  can and do Support.  Mine is animal rescue, I am a firm believer  what Mahatma Ghandi said is true. "You can tell  a lot about a Society just based on how they treat their animals".

I donate from every transaction  a portion of my commission to Animal Causes.I also market to animal lovers. For many years you could have seen my advertisement in Best Friends Magazine (Best Friends Animal Society from Kaneb, Utah).

More and more, I started focusing more on helping smaller Local Groups : Last year I was one of the sponsors of The Rescue Train's ' RACE FOR THE RESCUES  http://www.racefortherescues.org

Endre - I am with you on that!  It is so awesome to see you and other support the animals rescue.  My heart goes out to the animal who need us to love them and give them care.  I have a border collie who goes with me every where I go while my husband at work.  Bandit is his name.  He even goes with me to do open houses.  Or when I need to show property.  And at the office he sleep at under my desk. Everyone enjoy his company too.  He is very loving toward people.

Hey Cheryl, Bandit that is great. Diane and I used to have a black Pomeranian, when she passed on to Rainbow Bridge, She became very active with rescue organizations and I started to support her and her charities. We now have two cats Heidi & Douggy......the rest is history

Endre, thank you for your comments on my post, "Lions and Gazelles." We have an excellent recall of the MLS books and to be candid, it wasn't all that long ago on Topsail Island. We also have heavy support in our office for animal rescue and are sponsors of the Topsail Island Humane Society's No Kill Shelter. We also donate a portion of our commission proceeds to the cause. Next month we will be holding one of our twice yearly "Junkyard Dog Yard Sales" here at our office and those proceeds will also be donated. Got a few great ideas from your post and will be bringing those to the team's attention. Keep up the good works!

This is such a great cause and I also once a year work with a 100% no kill shelter in Oregon City and I have been doing that for 15 years now. I do the same thing as you donate part of my commission from the shelter that meet me on that day or mention me at a later time that they met me there.

Todd, it is wonderful to see fellow Realtors supporting our four legged critters. We are lucky that we are in a position that our time is flexible and we in a better position then someone who has riggid hours. Most important is, that we  are able to provide the financial support to these good people who have the Rescue Organizations and do it 24/7. Thank you for your comment.

Glad to see your post. I help in a small way: I foster dogs rescued from Taiwan, Korea and China via www.AHAN.org.

When my beloved Labrador died nearly three years ago, I was so overcome with grief that I needed to have another dog in my life. My partner and I decided to check out different dogs and got hooked with this agency. We've been fostering for them ever since.

Best of luck and good wishes!

Pacita, there is no such thing as  helpin in a small way being a' Foster Parent for dogs'. Just think how lucky those dogs are, that they do not have to be in a small cage instead they get love, affection and health care. Hurrah for you, that is a 'Big thing' you are doing. The critters thank you.
