5:00AM - "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head..."      Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I gotta learn how to do "wrap-around" text, if that's the right description of how to get the text and pictures to line up together.

6:00AM - Plans laid for a really productive day in greater Columbia, SC real estate.  Whoo hoo!!!

6:30AM - Went out to get the paper...paper is not here...paper is late again!  Neighbor Jack who is a really nice guy, and is to have major surgery in the morning, whips his vehicle into our driveway and says, "Charlie, did you get your paper?  This is the one day in the past year that I was just going to sit around and read the paper, and the damn things not here!"  He had on his hospital wrist band, obviously prepping for tomorrow (9/11 of all days).  Please remember my friend Jack in your prayers!

7:00AM - Wife says "we have to talk".  Oh, boy!  Our 13 year old daughter had a friend who's grandmother passed away yesterday stay with us last night.  Could I drive them to school?  Yea.  Could I also drive our 17 year old to school as Wednesday is his late day going in.  Yea.  (Whew, that was all~!)

I had a broker tell me one time, Real Estate is a lifestyle.  I spend some time thinking about this today.  It's not all contacts, clients, contracts and closings.  In fact, that's why I believe that I enjoy it.  I've had a variety of clients including a greenhouse owner, a flight attendant, a restaurateur, a social worker, an IT manager, etc...  Unique lifestyles, many with children, most, like the cliche tells us want to know how much we care, not how much we know.  They want a Realtor who understands this, that is sensitive to their unique situation(s), and then can do all the other stuff.

8:00AM- Got back from Chapin Middle School and hearing the girls singing some song about New York.  (I'm not cool any more with the music.  When they went to see the Jonas Brothers, old dad had to say, "Who the heck are the Jonas Brothers?")

Couldn't find the 17 year old.  A girl picked him up this morning.  He's got the lifestyle!

9:00AM - It's raining.  I wish I could just go back to bed.

9:30AM - Well, on to the termite letter that came back yesterday showing a "slight problem with the property..."  This is exactly like hearing your spouse saying, "We have to talk."

The best laid plans... Real Estate is a lifestyle.  We'll see what else happens next in a day in the life.

Hi Charlie,

I enjoyed your post.  Where is the rest of the day?  Did this post have a part 2?  Anyway, I hope we work together sometime soon.
