The north end of Colorado Springs and more specifically "The Black Forest" and "Tri-Lakes" areas are rapidly becoming a popular destination for those seeking the "Colorado Luxury Lifestyle". Proximity to National Forest, Skiing, Popular Schools and the advent of higher end amenities are making this area a wise choice when considering relocation.

The "Broadmoor" area, located in the southwestern part of Colorado Springs has long been the only choice for those looking to buy a luxury home in the Pikes Peak region. The five star, five diamond Broadmoor Hotel was the natural epicenter of the discerning home buyer in Colorado Springs. Changes is the north-end landscape are creating another choice. Amenities like "The Promenade Shops at Briargate" and the new "Club at Flying Horse" combined with lower land prices, natural beauty and close proximity to Denver are making the north end of Colorado Springs a very desirable location.

Although the Broadmoor area is still clearly the king when it comes to luxury in the Springs, here are a couple of the new contenders:

  • Flying Horse Ranch-This is the housing development built around the new Club at Flying Horse. This subdivision features a wide range of product from maintenance free patio homes to multi million dollar estate properties. Located at the corner of Highway 83 and Northgate Road this subdivision consists of more than 1,500 acres and is a combination of residential, commercial and resort.

  • Cathedral Pines - Cathedral Pines is located just 2 miles east of Highway 83 and Shoup Road minutes from I-25 and Interquest Parkway. This area consists of 810 acres, 158 lots featuring towering Ponderosa Pines and remarkable views all in a park like setting. With more than 450 acres of parks and open space, eight miles of trails, multiple ponds, water features and picnic areas, Cathedral Pines offers the opportunity for a truly remarkable quality of life.

  • Sanctuary In The Pines- (does not yet exist) 2,378 acres Planned Unit Development, 390 single-family residential lots, 1,182 acres of public open space and an elementary school site. The property is generally located north of Shoup Road and east of Vollmer Road, within the Black Forest Planning Area.

  • High Forest Ranch- Although it's been around since 2000, this subdivision still has a handful of lots left, mostly resale and builder owned lots.
