Consider me late to the party. I figured I would finally try out this RE-Blog feature, and what better article to select than one that is very near and dear to my heart, the ActiveRain Community Guideline!

ActiveRain is built for Community
We built ActiveRain as a place for real estate professional to network and create a sense of community/belonging. This is your community! It is our members that make ActiveRain such a special place.
Have fun with the site. Don't be afraid to dig in! There's a lot to do and learn here.
Let ActiveRain staff and other members know what you are thinking. Member feedback is essential to our continued growth and development
Get connected. At first ActiveRain may seem, both at the same time; so big that you could never be heard, and so small and cliquish that you will never be a part of it. Everyone experiences this phenomenon. Our suggestion is to start off slow; read blogs, then start commenting on posts that interest you, and once you feel ready, blog away!
Rich- Respecting the AR community is the key to gaining the same in return and in improving one's readership. I think I have only deleted one comment from my blog in the entire time I have been on AR but I have a lot of people who spam my blog with comments trying to get members over to their websites. Although I think it is tacky and disrespectful, I feel that if I let others see who they really are and how they really behave, well, they will NOT get the respect and no sales!
Now I do wish we had a report spam button on the new Localism! I do report Spam.
I think it's good to have rules. I don't want Ar to become a place where I would be embarrased to blog with my kids in the room. If people want to act like teenagers, bigots, chauvinists or racists let them find somewhere other than AR to do it. I don't want it on here, most others wont either I think.
I think some people forget this a professional's network.
Rich, thank you very much for what you did today. I appreciate knowing that AR is the kind of place that my young nieces can browse without my (or them) being embarrassed by nude photos and such.
If you find content on ActiveRain that you believe violates the intention of our Community Guidelines please flag it for our review. If the content does not have a flag feature available, please contact support with the details of the violation. Please do not attempt to correct or discipline another ActiveRain member directly!
I am SO glad that you decided to 're-blog' on this topic because some people (new members especially) might be a little perplexed as to what Active Rain is all about. In addition, this is a good reinforcement and reminder of AR policies for those of us who have 'signed on' within the past 2 years.
I have a question..well, actually two: Where do the 'graphic' words come from and Why is it that sometimes there is no request for one when posting a comment?
Rich, recently #4 is being violated more than I have ever seen it before. I must get at least 4 to 5 phone call per week soliciting my business and they always mention ActiveRain as to how they obtained my contact information. I remind them of the rules, but I don't know if that stops them from moving on and calling the next member on their list.
I am irritated by the number of people who submit copied content, like you stated -- various cute little sayings they get off google or some sight with sayings. Posting them is not so much the problem as that they never seem to click the box that says it is not their content, when it clearly is not. I hardly think that sticking their logo at the bottom makes it mostly original. What should a person do, flag the stuff.
Nice ReBlog choice Rich - I wish I would have thought of that! haha.
Tony, you need to read this post closely, and then read the post about ReBlogs, ReTweets, etc. ReBlogging is not Plagiarizing. These rules do apply to ALL members including the AR staff. The only difference is that if a member breaks the rules, they get warned then kicked off, If we break them, we get warned then lose our jobs.
Thank goodness we have guys like Rich around, or there's a possibility that Blogs would run rabid and there would be chaos. Thanks for the great post ReBlog and reminders Rich, I hadn't read these in a while myself. :-))
FYI @Kris, my kids check out Dad's Blogs and AR sometimes too, it's nice for them to see how professional and ethical most people are on the network. My 22 year old may be looking for his next house or loan on here soon, so I appreciate all Rich's hard work keeping this place clean and orderly. :-)
I am learning a lot and do see results....however I am wondering if there couldn't be a wider variety of members blogs as featured posts? It would be fun to get more points of view at our fingertips.
