Fidelity Agent. Ever hear of it?

We didn't either, until our Fidelity Title rep introduced us to it today. We were asked if we were ever baffled by math questions,  Questions such as:

  • I don't want to go over $3000/month in mortgage payments. How much house can I afford to buy?
  • How much are our closing costs going to be?
  • How much will we net if we sell our house at a certain price?
  • How much will our monthly payments be at 5% down? 10%? 15%? 20%?
  • How much will our monthly payments be at 6% interest for 30 years? At 6.5%
  • How much will we save if we made an extra mortgage payment a year on a 30 year mortgage?
  • Rent vs buy

Typically, we copped out by referring clients to our lenders and to our escrow managers. Or we say "Let me work out some figures and I'll get back with you."

We never have the answers on the spot. Well, with Fidelity Agent, we can! Info on Fidelity Agent is not on every Fidelity Title Company site, but here's a link to Fidelity Agent comparisons to other calculation programs.

By filling in key information, and at a flick of a wrist, we can get the answers at that moment to show to our clients. We can also print and email the answers. Best of all, we can have the software on our computer AND our PDA (Treo, Blackberry, etc).

Going through the exercises, our jaws just dropped. It seemed so easy. Yes, it was fast! Yes, there were all kinds of questions that could be answered by this program pertaining to first loans, second loans, city/county-specific transfer taxes, rent vs buy, differences in monthly payments based on down payment and interest rates. Yes, it's all in real time, just like that!

Un-friggin'-believable. I can't wait to whip out my Blackberry next time someone asks me what they can afford to buy if they don't want to go over $2500/mo in payments.

To Fidelity National Title, a big THANK YOU for introducing us to Fidelity Agent!

Pacita, what a great tool, how do I add it to my Blackberry? Let me know I am not the most internet savy person, but I am trying. Thank you in advance.

Thank you!  I'm calling my Fidelity rep tomorrow to get this added to my Blackberry.  In the past, I have always tried to refer these questions to my loan officers but I have been finding lately that buyers seem to want these answers on the spot.  This will be very helpful!

Endre,

My Fidelity Title rep introduced this to us, and we're ordering the program through her. Do you want to check with your Fidelity Title rep, and refer her to this blog?

My title rep's name is Donna Smyth. I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing with you info on where you can get this program. Email her at donna.smyth@fnf.com

Lori, I'm sure you'll be just as impressed as we were.

Good luck!

Pacita - I discovered a similar tool about 2 months ago!  I appreciate the fact that I can now comfortably and with confidence provide reasonable estimates for clients. I paid a nominal fee of $30 to have the tool installed on my PC - and it was well worth it.

Hi, all.

I finally have it loaded on my computer AND my Blackberry. I was playing around with it yesterday, and tried different questions and scenarios. I love the INSTANT answers. This is going to be an invaluable tool.

The idea that I have it on my Blackberry is what excites me since I don't always have my computer with me.

Now that I have this additional tool, plus Pocket MLS, plus internet browsing, plus Google Maps...I am not afraid to go out into the world ;)

So how much does Fidelity cost? Is it a one time charge or monthly? I went to the site and you have to sign in to get information. I hate sites like that! Thanks PH
