The Costa Mesa Real Estate report for September 10, 2008 is as follows:

There are 329 homes currently for sale in Costa Mesa.  237 of these are single family (SFR) homes.  92 are condos.

100 homes are in escrow, conditionally sold. 79 are SFRs. 21 are condos.

14 homes have closed escrow in September.

The median price of homes in September is $557,500.  The average price of a home in September is $558,558.

Three of the homes sold in September were bank owned/REO, and one was a short sale (requested the lender accept less than was owed on the mortgage upon sale), had a notice of default filed(for failure to pay the mortgage) on them or were otherwise in the foreclosure process.

62 homes closed escrow in August. 

The median price of homes in August was $487,500.  The average price of a home was $518,032.

12 of the homes sold in August were short sales. 22 of the homes sold in August were bank owned/REO properties.

Two homes were listed today. 3 homes were placed in escrow since our last post.  

One listing was cancelled today; three were put on hold.
