I posted a blog yesterday about 4 Super Simple Sales Tips and one of the tips was about using Ctrl+F to scan pages, sites and documents quickly for keywords and phrases. I had a lot of positive feedback on that post, so I figured I would share some more ‘control' tips along with some ‘memory' queues.

 ***************************
SELECT COPY PASTE
***************************

Ctrl+A - Selects everything on the page (remember it as Ctrl+All)

 Ctrl+C -Copy

 Ctrl+X - Cut (the X looks like scissors..right... X it all!)

Ctrl+V - Paste ( I just remember this because its right next to ‘copy'.. if anyone else has a memory queue for this please share)

***************************
UNDO
***************************

Ctrl+Z - Undo the last action (Zee.. I didn't mean to do that)

Ctrl+Y - Undo the last undo ('yes, I meant to do that' OR 'Y did I undo that?')

***************************
DOCUMENT CONTROLS
***************************

Ctrl+N - New document

Ctrl+O - Open Document

Ctrl+S - Save

Ctrl+P - Print

There are plenty more, but these are the ones I use on a daily basis... and here's one that I use all the time, but probably of no use to you. Add it to your collection of useless information :)

Alt+0176 = Degree mark... as in 360 degree virtual tours or 360°

All right, I'm sure this will be an old and lame joke, but, I can't resist asking:  So, does this make you a "control freak"?

Sorry, easily entertained by my own silliness this morning.  These really are helpful tips, thank you.

Good reminders.  Many skills are perishable, but these shortcuts can be used daily.  Thanks again for the reminder.

Cheryl I am all over these...I am not a big fan of using the mouse!  It slows me down!

That was created by using ctrl+1 :)

Thanks for the tips.  Some of them I knew about, but others are new to me. A HUGE thanks for the "alt+0176".  I've been looking for that FOREVER!  Thanks!

Thanks for the list of tips and when you right click on a file == hold the ctrl key down and it will allow you to confirm that you want to copy or move files to folders -- make it a profitable day!

I love keyboard shortcuts probably because I learned to use a computer before the wonderful mouse was invented.  To this day I use every short cut I can possibly use because they just seem more efficient.

WOW!  I love the 0176 trick.  I am an avid user of the ctrl shortcuts, and hate hunting done the ° character.  This is going to be great when I am creating marketing tools.....I use the ° all the time, and usually just try to find a place to copy and paste it.
