Here is a website everyone should have on their favorites list.

 It's the Hospital Compare Website:  http://www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov

According to the site it was created by the efforts of The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which is an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and members of the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA).

This website is a great tool for anyone using the services of a hospital, including Medicare patients, but don't use this as your sole source of information, consider your doctors recommendations and do research if you have the time before entering a hospital.

You can find general information from a Hospital Checklist, to your rights as a patient.  They also have a section to see what actual patients have had to say about their care in certain hospitals.  You can find out the results of certain care and treatments.

I'm sure there are many more websites similar to this one, but after going through this one it really has some great information and could be used by families, their doctors and nurses and even hospitals themselves to see how they rate with other facilities.
