The use of a quality business card can pay you in dividends.  I have used business cards from www.BestBusinessCards.com (I don't work for them!) for two years and I have received several listings as a direct result.  The cards I get are the most expensive and I get the tip chart printed on the back and I have only had good comments from people when I give them out.  Nobody wants to throw them away since they are great quality.  Also, I leave a card at showings even if I've already shown it.  I just got a call this week from a seller wanting me to list his house since I have shown it three times and left a card each time.  He said he liked my card when I asked him why he chose me.  Give them a look to better your business.

Dear David,

I completely agree. For anyone in real estate the first thing they must learn is marketing. Marketing there listings and just as important marketing themselves. The first way is always the business card. When anyone ever asked me if I have a business card, I smile and say of course I do I am in Real Estate .... How many cards would you like? My cards get left everywhere, nail saloon, car wash, doctor's office. It is the cheapest and a effective marketing tool for all agents.

Have a successful day,

David~ I have put the tip schedule on the back of my card and people seem to like that. I also have put a listing on the back of a card and leave them everywhere I can.  It advertises my listing as well as me at the same time. I am going to click through to see the company you are speaking about.

Interesting. I think it would be neat to ask 100 of your past clients if the stock your card is printed on made a difference. I do beleive that when a couple attends 7 open houses in a weekend and are starting to consider a realtor it is important to do anything you can to get them to remember you and what you said

What  a neat idea! I never thought about putting a tip chart on the back. I'll be going over to that business card site to take a look. :)

Aloha David

I couldn't agree more.  Presentation is everthing. If you don't present well you are not going to get in the door

Checked out the site....looks good. I am completely convinced that passing out cards everywhere you go works!

Well, I am curious as to what your card looks like.  Can you mail it to me?  I do agree that business cards are important and I too pass them out as much as possible.  I don't understand the agents/brokers that do not have their picture on them.  The card is a reminder of who you are and the picture personalizes it, but still many do not have some sort of picture on them.  When I receive a card without a picture, I end up tossing them.

Donald Trump says, "if you hand someone a business card and they don't say, 'Wow, that's a nice card', then you need to get a new business card!"

Same here David. I put the tip chart on the back and get compliments. I normally hear "nice picture" so that makes me feel good!

The picture always seems to be the thing that people like about my card.  Not that I am great looking but the picture seems to pop.

People underestimate the power of a business card. I keep cards for years and doubt if I'm alone.

Business cards power is underestimated.  It doesn't matter how much you spend on them, they are still the least expensive form of advertising other than word of mouth.

I have a business card made out of real wood. I tell my Clients that if they don't take care of their houses, I'll bet by bulldozer team out there, scrape the house off the lot, and turn any salvageable material into business cards.

Readers who are interested in real wood business cards, postcards, stationery, and much more, should check out http://www.cardsofwood.com.

There's also a very good book by Dr. Ivan Meisner, the founder of Business Network International (BNI), called "It's In The Cards!" An extellent read with ideas that can be adapted for not only business cards, but any type of marketing materials, including web sites.

David: I want to make you laugh, I didn't use cards for many, many years. Yes, I sold real estate and didn't use cards. I can't say exactly why, but I would tell people my signs are all over, I'm easy to find. I guess I wanted to be a bit aloof.

I guess.  They are printed on heavy card stock and high gloss on both sides and they have rounded corners and are taller than other cards so they stand out better when grouped with others.
