In the mid 1960's the Deane Brothers began building the first tract of homes in Mission Viejo, eventually building over 650 homes based on six distinct models; Tiffany, Emerald, Marquis, Briolette, Chanticlaire and Jubilee. Although the original square footages were listed as 1,500 to 2,300 sq.ft., many owners have expanded their homes to as large as 2800 sq. ft. or more. Another reason these homes remain popular is the large lots they occupy.
The neighborhood is served by a clubhouse, available only to residents, complete with pool, spa, tennis courts and recreation room available for private parties. Award winning schools, Mission Viejo High School, La Paz Intermediate, and O'neill Elementary are integral to this bedroom community. Shopping opportunities range from neighborhood centers and national retailers to the regional mall, The Shops At Mission Viejo, just a few exits down the freeway.
