What would you charge for this as a monthly rental fee?

Sofa, 2 chairs, coffeetable, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, 2 8x10 area rugs, 52" round dining table, 4 chairs, queen size bed with headboard and footboard, 2 nightstands, 2 lamps, comfortable chair with side table and floor lamp

The home is New Construction, Southwestern/spanish style architecture. Budget is very minimal...

Why am I asking? I will have to rent furniture and rent it quickly. The only place available is Arron Rents and from looking on line I can do it for about $500 a month.

Don't forget to include rental for all your accessories!  It adds up!  I've used Aarons, it's the least expensive option available for rental pieces in my area.

I guess Im considered a staging Diva ...right girls? LOL  I would charge $650 because to that you will add artwork, pillows, throws and all those details we love! I use Aarons a lot and I always add for the extras!

Judy    I would not rent a lot of the accessories. I have accessories of my own to use and may have the client purchase some more. Arron's is the only rental place in our area.

Fernanado     Okay staging Diva.... Thank you for your response. I have a fellow stager in Tucson and I sent her an email today to see what she would charge. She has a large inventory, about enough to stage 3 complete homes and enough accessories for 10.... I would love to help her out , but at the same time Arrons is such a good deal, becausse they have Free delievery, pick up and set up!

I have most of what I would need to stage the home with accessories, but might ask client to rent or purchase some extras...

I will be giving you all the update on this one soon. I met with the builder this afternoon.....

Dee, Have you asked if the store will give you a discount.  I try to buy as much of my inventory as possible, but I do have one local store that gives me a 50% discount, because he wants his company name out there and is hoping I will use him a lot. We have 3 rental stores in my area and all of them including Arron's will give me a discount. Arron's wasn't willing to go the 50%, but it was a better deal than anyone walking in off the street. Unfortunately these stores sometimes do not have the quality of inventory that I'm needing.  I can get a sofa, love seat, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, 5 piece dining set, queen bed, dresser w/mirror and night stand for around $200.00 a month. So it's worth it to ask for a stagers discount. Hope this helps.

Donna   That is something for me to ask. Thank you. I do get professional discount from stores I purchase from, but did not think about asking for rentals...

I am surprised that your Aarons does not charge delivery. My aarons charges me between 100 to 150 dollars for delivery (it includes pick up)

I get a minimum of 25% discount at Aaron's here in my area.  No delivery, pick up, set up fee.  I purchased some side chairs for my inventory because Aaron's only carries recliners, but you can't beat the sofa/loveseat prices.  I can't seem to sell Cort's prices or contract terms to my clients.

Teresa,  Arrons is really easy to work with. They take anyone with a job and a license to give them. Month to month, and no fees for delivery or pick up. The only set back is what is readily available. Not so good all the time. You can order from the cataloge but that takes 4 weeks to get in... Not so good.

Dee - I use Aarons for renting my furniture but I own most of my accessories and some of my smaller pieces of furniture.  I have found Aarons usually has great art work and I do rent their art work from time to time because it goes well with their furniture.  Here in Roanoke, we have an Aarons Corporate Store, they work with stagers, corporate housing and businesses.  Their prices are better than what you find in the regular stores.   The local store has been great...they charge me between $60 and $80 for pickup and delivery. They will not give me a discount and I have asked for one before because of the volumn of work I give me, but their prices seem to be less than the one you quoted above.  For what you quoted above, my charge at the corporate store would be less than $300 per month. You can check their corporate prices on their web site at http://www.aaronrents.com/corporate.htm.  I would then charge the homeowner around $450 per month to cover accessories.  One more thing...I have found it cheaper and better for me to buy my own rugs.  I can buy better rugs at Lowes and even Walmart and I shop for great sales. My cost of $300 per month would not include rugs and lamps.  Hope this helps!

Wanda   I did not know their art was really worth looking at. I will have to look next time. We do not have a Corporate Arron store here in Tucson. I noticed that with the corporate rentails they require a 3 month agreement but with general public it is month to month. I agree with you about the rugs. Thanks

Dee, There is a listing for Aaron's Clearance Center in Tucson.  If this is correct, maybe you could contact them about discounts, and even a partnership.  If you look at their website you will see "Home Staging."  My local Aaron's store told me that they have downsized this part of their business in some parts of the country because of competition with Cort, and because most product requests are for casual items for family living.  Does that make sense? :-0  I think its worth a look!
