When Bad News
Becomes Good!
Have you ever heard of "The Great
American Rat Experiment?" This simple little
story provides us a very simple explanation regarding health problems
here in America. Rats are scavengers, a part of the planet's
clean up crew, yet look what happens to them in this experiment.
Similar studies are happening here in America, yet they aren't called
"studies." The reason...the vast majority of Americans eat
what we call the "Standard American Diet." (sometimes referred to as
the "SAD" diet). There are however, a group of Americans who
are refusing this dangerous diet and are doing what you will read about
in this story. You see, they aren't really part of a study,
but are part of real life experiences. Read the Story for
yourselves and see what conclusions you draw from
it...I'll add more comments at the end of the story:
THE GREAT AMERICAN RAT EXPERIMENT
The following is an account of an interesting three-part experiment
comparing the effects of raw foods versus cooked foods in rats. This
account is taken from a book titled Goldot, by Lewis E. Cook, Jr. and
Junko Yasui:
"It has been found that a group of rats who were
fed diets of raw vegetables, fruits, nuts and grains from birth grew
into completely healthy specimens and never suffered from any disease.
They were never ill. They grew rapidly, but never became fat, mated
with enthusiasm, and had healthy offspring. They were always gently
affectionate and playful and lived in perfect harmony with each other.
Upon reaching an old age, equivalent to 80 years in humans, these rats
were put to death and autopsied. At that advanced age, their organs,
glands, tissues and all body processes appeared to be in perfect
condition without any sign of aging or deterioration.
A
companion group of rats were fed a diet comparable to that of the
average American and included white bread, cooked foods, meats, milk,
salt, soft drinks, candies, cakes, vitamins and other supplements,
medicines for their ailments, etc. During their lifetime, these rats
became fat and from the earliest age, contracted most of the diseases
of modern American society including colds, fever, pneumonia, poor
vision, cataracts, heart disease, arthritis, cancer, and many more.
Most
of this group died prematurely at early ages, but during their
lifetime, most of them were vicious, snarling beasts, fighting with one
another, stealing one another’s food and attempting to kill
each other.
They had to be kept apart to prevent total destruction of the entire
group. Their offspring were all sick and exhibited the same general
characteristics as the parents.
As this group of rats died one
by one or in epidemics of various diseases, autopsies were performed
revealing extensive degenerative conditions in every part of their
bodies. All organs, glands, and tissues were affected, as were the
skin, hair, blood, and nervous system. They were all truly total
physical and nervous wrecks. The same conditions existed in the few
which survived the full duration of the experiment.
A third
companion group of rats was fed the same diet as the second group to an
age equivalent to about forty years in humans. They displayed the same
general symptoms as the second group. They were sick and vicious so
that they had to be separated to prevent them from killing each other
and stealing one another’s food. At the end of this initial
period, all
rats in this group then received the natural (raw) diet of the first
group of rats. Within one month, the behavioral pattern had changed
completely so that the now docile, affectionate, playful creatures were
once again able to live together in a harmonious society and from this
point on never suffered any illness.
Several rats were put to
death and autopsied at the end of the initial period revealing the same
general deterioration as that exhibited in the second group of rats.
However, the remaining rats lived out the full duration of the
experiment, to the equivalent of 80 years in humans, and when they were
autopsied there were no signs of aging or deterioration or disease just
as those in the first group. The obvious disease, degeneration, and
deterioration of body parts evident in their first half of life had
been completely reversed and excellent health restored.
The same
principles apply to human life as there is only one Truth! Thus, it may
be concluded that sick people may be restored to health simply by
choosing the proper diet and observing the other rules of health. There
is no mystery. There is no external force that will help –-
all healing
is accomplished within the body, by the body, in accordance with the
laws of organic life and health."
What you have read above is
happening every day in America. Notice the
similarities. The rats ate what we eat, and their
society and their health mimiced what is happening to us.
They got all of the diseases we get, they had many of the same
problems we have in our society. We are used to this, as this is considered to be normal. I would
like to take a moment to thank our medical industry, our food industry, and the FDA for the
brainwashing that Americans have received in regards to the way we live
today. In case you somehow missed it, I am sarcastically
suggesting it is their fault. Oooops, did I just lose you?
Now you think I am crazy? Actually, some people
(including members of my own family) think so. Why?
Because WE have been brainwashed into thinking this
is the way society is supposed to work.
Remember the title for this blog?
WHEN BAD NEWS BECOMES GOOD! You've read the
story...you can see for yourself how society is, and the way it could
be. There are many people in America who have made many
lifestyle changes that mimic what happened in the Rat Story...and the results are the
same. The changes that occured in the rats are
happening to them as well. Disease is being reversed, people
are living longer healthier lives, and attitudes become so much better.
Yes,
this is good news!
But there is one huge problem.
People just do not like change, even when such change is
very, very good for them. I have talked to a lot of people
about health issues. One of them is a man who had a heart
attack. It was mild, and he is now taking all kinds of
medication (a part of the profits for the drug/medical
industry). He likes his lifestyle and said he will not change
it for anything, although he also said he doesn't want another heart
attack and would like to live a long healthy life. Sorry...it doesn't work
that way, he cannot live one lifestyle and expect to achieve the
results offered by a better lifestyle. If we
choose the SAD side of the rat story, we will reap the same results the
rats reaped. If we choose the other side of that story, we
will also reap the positive results which the rats reaped. The
choice is yours.
Do you have to make a
total change all at once? No. First,
you will want to educate yourself further (I've started a GROUP here on
Active Rain for just this purpose). You will want to learn
what you should or shouldn't do, and why. When you
have a better understanding, your decision will be easier to make.
There are two differing opinions as to how people should make
such changes.
- Make gradual changes as you learn more and more.
- Educate yourself as to what you should
do, and just make the switch all at once.
There are benefits to both options. It is easier
to make gradual changes, and this is the route I took.
However, after studying the benefits of option two, I
sometimes wish I would have taken that route. Those who
choose option two see almost immediate effects from the change.
They are totally astounded, and rarely go back once they see
the overall difference in how they feel. Making
such a change is not easy though, and those who do return to their
previous diet do so because they find walking away from their previous
lifestyle was just a bit overwhelming.
My suggestion would be
to try option two first, and if it is a problem, then go back
and try option one and just make gradual changes.
We feel almost indestructable when our health appears to be good.
I say "appears" because there are many people who think that
they are healthy, then one day the doctor tells them they only
have a short time to live. This is the
moment of panic I hope to help you avoid, but many of you reading this
today will think that
this could not happen to you. I spent 5 years working in a major hospital, and I can tell
you that every single person in there because of healthy reasons (not
referring to those who are victims of an accident) would do almost
anything to be able to go back and make changes that would prevent them
from being in the hospital. The time to make that
decision is now, not when the moment of regret happens.
I would like to challenge you to
read the story of the rats again. Please
consider the facts of the story carefully. Interested in

Wow...134 views, & no comments. A little feedback would be wonderful...this is a very important topic, although I have a feeling that many of you may not have a clue as to why it is so important.
Regarding the Rat Experiment...I see it playing itself out in our society. Oh how sad it is too. So many are dying when they don't have to. I see people treating each other in horrific ways (just as was mentioned about the rat society), and some of it I see being played out by people who are close to me. Do any of you realize what is really happening here?
