First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who left a comment or e-mailed me expressing interest in being my apprentice for Project Blogger. I've finally picked my apprentice -- congratulations to Tisza Major-Posner from Claremont, CA! My selection criteria was fairly simple: I looked for strong initiative and desire to learn how to use a blog to grow a their client base.

Here are the steps she took to catch my attention:

  1. Commented on my Active Rain post
  2. Commented on my Zillow Blog post
  3. Took the time to read several entries on my personal blog -- and commented
  4. Commented again on my AR post
  5. Tisza put together an excellent profile on AR

Tisza's comments were clearly well thought out and showed desire to learn. She appears to have the dedication that is required to make blogging successful. Additionally, I like her writing style -- she doesn't seem afraid to put her personality online, which I believe is absolutely essential to blogging success. Lastly, Tisza is obviously new to blogging - posting her 1st entry last week on March 31st. I plan on helping her attract an audience with content focused on Claremont and its surrounding cities.

Thanks again for everyone who stated an interest to be my apprentice. I'm sorry I don't have time to personally e-mail or call everyone who commented one of my posts. If anyone has any specific questions or wants some blogging advice, please leave a comment and I'll try to get to everyone.

I look forward to a very competitive competition. May the best blogging apprentice win!

Drew,

I finished my profile, went back, and there, you had already made your choice.  Tizsa was good, no Tizsa was great, a wonderful pick.

If you get a moment would you consider looking at my now finished profile?  My overall goal is to be working with a team using using both my writing and real estate skills.  Would your offices consider a part-time intern for some months to add to the mix at Zillow?  The arrangement would  benefit you folks and could be a wonderful step for my future in Public Relations/Writing/Real Estate!

Many Thanks      Eileen Forster

Hi All,

I think this is a first for me... I am neigh on speechless!  I am thrilled and honored to have been chosen and will endeavor to do my team proud.  Thank you to everyone who has been so welcoming and supportive.  Forgive me, I really want to do some basking in the warm glow of acceptance right now, however if I don't do some lead generating I shall be basking from beneath a plastic tarp pitched in a local park.

Again, thank you everyone for your friendship and support.  It is truly hard for me to believe that I have only been a part of the Active Rain community since Friday last.

Oh, and lest I forget, I shall also be pulling for you Eileen.  Your experience and willingness to learn and grow will be an asset wherever you choose to apply it.  Keep me posted on how things turn out for you.

Take care, help lots of people and have a WONDERFUL Day!

Tisza (who still can't believe her good fortune at being allowed to participate in such a valuable, meaningful and exciting experience and is now going to buy a lottery ticket to see if lightening will strike twice) Major-Posner

Congratulations Tisza (can you tell us how to phonetically say your name - I need to have it clear on my mind) - I think this competition is going to be great and such a learning experience for not only all involved, but for this community as well.  So don't let me down guys, I'm learning from all of you!

Congrats Tisza....  Drew I think you made a great choice.  To say I am not jealous would be a lie.   But I've read Tisza's post and love how she writes and what she has to say... and geez she just got here.

Best of luck to you both in the competition.

Hi All,

Ines asked: Tisza (can you tell us how to phonetically say your name - I need to have it clear on my mind).  It is like Lisa with a "T".  I usually tell people that the "z" is silent and that is the only thing about me that is :-).

Hope that helps.  And for those in the know the name and the person are both Hungarian in origin.  I share my name with a river in Hungary which is named after ancestors of mine.  The funny thing is if you do a search on the name "Tisza Major" you get both the waterway and me.  Imagine my shock the first time I ever "Googled" myself and discovered that I was in danger of dying from pollution.  Not a pretty way to go.

Take care all, help lots of people and have a wonderful night

Wow, gee what a surprise. Picking a published author, a professional writer, over everyone else who truly are newbies?  Picking someone who was coached by another coach to become an apprentice.  VERY apparent that the 'clique-y in-crowd' had lots of influence.  This is just getting ridiculous.

Congratulations Tisza! I am enjoying your blogs, and I hope you don't die of pollution very soon. If you eat a lot of bran and drink a lot of water, it may help with that. :-)
