I've been reading a lot of junk recently...yes in my not so humble opinion it's junk and in the grand scheme of things really so much of it is so unimportant!

Yes I know it's important to get our messages across..its important to make our own marks on the net and we try very hard to get our share of the web..but are you really?

With extreme opinions...extreme rants...and extreme public views... you think you are opening doors when in reality you may be shutting many because you fail to remember it is the world wide web.

Not all cultures are alike..and we assume we the Americans are the largest  Internet users and if we don't think that way..we sure sometimes act that way when we do not consider..that each country may in fact have their own language...have their own customs..and their own beliefs.

I've read many posts that are quite critical lately...

As a matter of fact..not only critical but some cultures might find offensive...disrespectful and may in fact cause someone to hit unsubscribe or the next button.

I have many international readers from around the world and all walks of life...I consider that when I write..and maybe you should too!

The computer scientist is a perfect example..a U.S. citizen..who is Hispanic and Italian..when he speaks..it's clear he has an accent..little do people know..he is genius with an extreme high IQ...served this great country...could run circles around so many when it comes to global views and logic.

Get this he loves quantum physics!  huh?

He speaks approximately 5 languages...has a degree in computer science...a firm believer of the martial arts.... well spoken..and a soft spoken man....most people enjoy talking with him...the only problem on occasion his pronunciation...spelling..and the fact..he knows 5 languages.   He is aware of it because he mentions it....and it bothers him. For me personally I think it is cute.  For him embarrassment....Honor.

A multi-cultured home with multi-cultured beliefs!  It's everday life..and no different than then the world-wide web.

In Daytona Beach vacation homes, 2nd homes and investment properties are a large portion of our market.  Who buys these properties?..people...from around the globe...

The Web Is Global... Did you know that Asia and Europe has many more Internet users than the United States?  I know a place where you can find out the history of how the web evolved..and if you find that interesting..there is a full blown explanation of how email came about....

A great source of information that can help you understand the world wide web.. internetworldstats.com.

Who knows it might open up your mind and have you writing very differently? You might capture a bigger audience..and end up selling an extra house or two!

How about you, do you think you appeal to the People On The World Wide Web?

Here's a thought..."Treat Others The Way You Would Like To Be Treated!"  To me that's global thinking!

I have lived around the world and appreciate people from many different cultures and walks of life. I can't say, however, that I have readers from the world.... that would be great if I did!!!!  Love it :)

It's fun to get to know people over the internet in general, however, and I hope that eventually that will happen!

Kim-I think you do...we just don't realize it...we assume everyone is from the US..at least that was my thoughts once..until I started to do a little research and homework...

Midori - Everyone is deserving of respect.   ..."Treat Others The Way You Would Like To Be Treated!"  To me that's global thinking  says it all in so many situations.  We don't need to be the arrogant Americans. We can learn so much from people of other cultures and walks of life.

We have home buyers from around the world.  They don't know a thing about American real estate matters.  Folks appreciate good real estate services irrespective their country of origin.

The most difficult matter for some buyers to understand is the critical importance and power of the Contract of Sale.

I try and keep alot of my personal opinion at bay on my work. I state facts or play and have fun stuff. Keep the opinions to yourself and know one knows what they are.

I think Kathy mcGraw is starting a European blog to attrack more international buyers. I try to make my posts clear, but I guess I never really thought about folks from around the world reading. They probably are because when I see my cluster map, it looks that way,

When I check my logs I can tell that I have incoming hits from locations outside the US.  Having lived in the Far East and Eurpore I'm aware of how different cultures react.  I'm surprised at some of the posts, especially those that state very strong political opinions, as even our local buyers or sellers may pass us by because of them.

Midori, This is a very god post andmakes 2 points to me. 1. Never judge anyone. There are many folks who would consider your scientist stupid becuase he doesn't talk "right". 2. Know who you are writing to. If it is an international base then you best be sure you know what you are doing.

Well done Midori.

Midori - Terrific post.  I have lived in Japan, Spain and UK and struggled with the languages.  Interestingly enough, it was more difficult for me in the UK than Spain and Japan, where people knew I was a foreigner and were quite patient.  In the UK, I had workmen and others literally scream at me in impatience because I could not follow their dialect.

The world has gone global when we weren't looking.  How on earth did we get the idea that speaking more than one language is unpatriotic?

I have been surprised at some of the political posts, even when I shared their views.  These were public posts and they just eliminated perhaps half of their readers as clients.

Good close with the Golden Rule.

Midori,

Your last statment was so profound!!!  Too often some people just forget how to be kind, and respectful to one another.  Great closing!!

Midori, you are right, way too many people forget that when they post an attack that people all over the world have access to it. Think before you type. Don't blog mad. Compose your thoughts. Be kind and honest. Thanks Midori.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful relaxing Sunday, the computer scientist and I have been discussing this today.  A couple of things you should think about:

Some customs date back 100's and 100's of years ago.

Some customs even ancient

Languages can be interrupted incorrectly or even the pronunciation can have a different meaning to the tone you are taking.

As far as politics...I would say...send the message to vote and as Ardell said it best, respect candidates give you kids a better chance at respecting authority.  I admit as a parent I was quite outspoken. I am proud of all of them..but its true..monkey see...monkey do!

The Golden Rule would really make the world a better place..

I know people think they do not have international visitors based on stat's I really believe we all do.  That's why I use these types of counters...I am visual and I need to see it in front of my eyes.

Some might call others sissies for not speaking every thought in their mind..something to think about..its really easy..remember what you put out on the net is what you will get back!  You won't appeal to all but  based on what you put out there will determine just how much of the net is your oyster!

Broker Bryant you made me giggle this morning...I read the comment to the scientist..his big brain just could not register the thought...the thought of being of being stupid. I thought he was going to pass out..really it was very funny.  Illogical...for the logical thinking man!  I tell him you too smart for your own good.

No, I don't think I appeal to everyone. But... this is going to sound callous... I don't really care. It wouldn't do any good for me to try and work with people who won't understand me, nor will I know how to communicate with them. I try to stick to what I know, and do it to the best of my abilities. I think Jeffrey Gitomer teaches that. Do one thing, and do it we

That global thinking is biblical. It's the golde rule. "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You". And if you don't get back what you expected, don't be a baby. Suck it up. Don't gossip. don't complain, and you WILL be blessed in some way or another.

Lisa-it isn't callous its reality we will not appeal to everyone..that's why its important to pay attention to what you write...how you write...and consider the world and not just your friends on the network.

Yes what I wrote about is biblical and I know...to me really its global...and really how hard can it be??????

Midori,

I am do not know if I appeal to others on the World Wide Web or not but I am working on it.  I trust that my friends here will tell me if I am missing it and where to improve.  I do try to treat others the way I would like to be treated tho.

Excellent point Midori.  The world is watching and reading.  It doesn't make sense to alienate potential customers because of insensitive communication.  I think that most people just don't think about it.
