In over 30 years of selling real estate, I firmly believe that "now" represents the best opportunitiy I've ever seen for buyers to nail down a great deal!
Are you wondering when is the best time to jump into the market? Well, 2 things are true for sure:
- You'll never be able to time any market precisely
- You'll never know the bottom of the real estate market "until" you've missed it.
Conventional wisdom among Realtors who experienced the ups and downs of the Hilton Head Real Estate Market over the years, indicates that we are seeing a nice uptick in folks who really aren't ready to occupy their homes but are buying now rather than waiting a year or two to retire and enter the market then. They firmly believe the prices are best now as opposed to what they'll experience when retirement looms.
3 CRUCIAL STEPS TO TAKE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE HILTON HEAD REAL ESTATE
1. Check your credit report before starting the search. Check this link for instructions on how to get a free credit report
2. Get started with the mortgage approval process. Personally, I am a firm believer in using local lending insitutiions and trusted mortgage professionals. If you would like some recommendations, I'll be happy to assist you.
3. Find a TRUSTED, EXPERIENCED REALTOR who can guide you through the process. I can't emphasize the importance of this enough. You need a Realtor who can asist you with understanding the local marketplace, trends and past performance.
And lastly, remember that ALL real estate is local. What you hear nationally, just isn't pertinent to a local market. Repeatedly, I have folks who come to me with the idea that they can totally "steal" a property. This may be true in some very affected areas in California and Nevada but it simply does not hold true for the beautiful resort community of Hilton Head. Don't get me wrong---there are excellent pricing opportunities out there--we just have to hunt them down for you.

Hi Diane, I think you said what we need to need to know. Your market like our market is a "Buyer Market". Isn't it amazing that most Buyer's don't know what that means. When it becomes a Seller's market is when they want to deal, Odd isn't it.
