In Elkhart County, parenting teenagers is a difficult job, and Individuals and Families in transition (iFIT)'s Family Empowerment program is sponsoring a free workshop designed to help parents through those tough years.

Guest speaker Michelle Braun will meet with parents Thursday to talk about boundaries, setting limits and communicating with teens.  Braun leads a group for at-risk teenagers at Oaklawn and works closely with their parents to teach effective parenting skills.

The workshop is open to the public and there is no fee.  It will be held in the Anna M. Schrock Auditorium on the lower level of the Goshen Public library, 601 S. Fifth Street, Goshen.  The workshop begins at 6:30 pm. RSVP by contacting Michelle Oliver at 574-295-6596 ext. 112, by Wednesday.

The first 35 people through the door will receive a free "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" journal for the teenager in their lives.

This public announcement has been brought to you by your local Elkhart County Real Estate Expert and Certified Short Sale Specialist, Elkhart-Evelyn Johnston, Prudential One Realty and can be reached at 574-304-7148.
