Eyes Wide Open.....

Recently  I have been a little stressed, yes, in my own little real estate world, ok, maybe stress is not the right word.  I think the correct  term would be P-A-N-I-C

Part of my job as a Real Estate Trainer is research.  I spend at least 20 hours a week on research from all different sources, as ActiveRain has grown so has the information sources. I honestly spend a good 10 hours a week on ActiveRain.  Yes, all of you who contribute has made a contribution to how I train and what I train and in many ways have changed my thought process.

Panic, Why? Honestly, it has awakened me to a much bigger place, bigger than what my own little real estate world will ever be, it has me thinking and thinking hard, plain and simple, it's all about LIFE.

So today rather than my usual  Real Estate Training I will share with you thoughts from the Activerain network and thoughts that we should ponder.

Mariana Wagner's Post of Perspective had me really thinking.  Deep scary thoughts, our children's future.  Will the children be ready?  Do we do everything we can as humans to ensure that each and every child has the fair chance to become a happy and productive adult in our society? Why does it take privately funded schools to get our children up to par after all aren't we the richest country in the world?  Maybe the problem is us, are we so concerned about our riches that our children are the second priority? Do we not think about the fact that these children will be our world leaders, our teachers and doctors?  How about the people entering the work force now, will they be ready for the future?  How about their parents? And their parents?

Racquel Turner's post reminds us to be grateful and appreciate the little things in life.  Ask yourself these questions, when was the last time you went without a meal?  Do you have a roof over your head?  How would you feel if the only possession was the clothes you are wearing? If our real estate markets are killing all of us and  employer's downsizing to laying people off,  imagine what is happening globally. Face it, human beings globally are suffering, don't hide from it or ignore it, it could be us one day! What would you do if you only had $1.00 a day to feed your family?

Colleen Kulikowski reminded us never to forget our humble roots!  Do the right thing and pay it forward.  Has someone taken the time to share something quite valuable to you that is so amazing you can't help but talk about it and share it, it's almost as if it is passed on from generation to generation?  How about that person in your life who just needs that little shove that may lead them the way to greatness?  What about you?  Has someone in your life given you a second chance and you didn't expect it?   How about a total stranger?  Did you or would you pay it forward  to someone who truly needs it?  When was the last time you did a good deed to expect nothing in return except to keep the chain going and pay it forward?

The ActiveRain community reminds us that sometimes The Best Things In Life Are Free!  Do you take the time to stroll or stop and smell the flowers? Imagine today, that ActiveRain did not exist, what would you be doing right now? What about those of you who met yesterday face to face for the first time and probably would not have met otherwise?  What about those of you who have not met and really look forward in doing so? Do you believe that sometimes the best things in life are free?

These are just a few of the posts that have left me with my eyes wide open.   What are yours?

Midori

I know , Im just busting your chops, you should know me by now.

Like Danny Devito Good Fellas, "I'm funny? I'm funny how? Like I amuse you?"

I might be crazy, but I am not sure I am that interesting. If you say so, right back at ya!

I am so mad you couldn't make it but I'll see you soon.

04/08/2007 07:20 PM by Neal Bloom-Realtor ® Assoc.-CRS-Weston FL (RE/MAX Premier Associates)

Neal-Yes I felt the disappointment today but all is well, there will be another time.  Besides it won't be long before I am in my old stomping grounds again.

04/08/2007 07:29 PM by Midori Miller-Daytona Beach Florida Real Estate Trainer (CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty)

Midori nice post especially on a day of grace such as Easter Sunday! So where were you yesterday when all the others on the east coast were hob knobing with one another?

04/08/2007 08:21 PM by Danny Smith (DISCOVER TEXAS HOMES)

Midori:

I love your writing and the thing that kept me reading (I have a short attention span for long reading unless something catches me right away) was "you changed your thought process".  I seriously had to change mine  so that I have control over everything I do, think, feel and act on.  I think it's the whole learning about balance. (others may think I'm totally addicted...that's why I wrote about Multi-tasking....haha!)

Very nice post....and after I send this comment out I think I'll go back and read it again!

04/08/2007 08:55 PM by Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman (RA), HAWAII Real Estate & HAWAII Relocation (Century 21 Liberty Homes -Mililani, Hawaii)

Danny-Not only is it Easter Sunday, it's your birthday!  Happy Birthday, indeed a glorious day!  Yes I did miss out on the hob knobbing, a few personal issues.  I thought I was going to be in South Florida this particular weekend but plans changed.  My hubby wasn't feeling well so I opted to attend the next one.  I felt a little disappointed today but I was with them in spirit and could not wait to hear and see the photos.  I know with the people who attended they had a wonderful time and I have a feeling there will be many more to come.  Happy Birthday!

Sally-Thank you.  I am really enjoying myself on Activerain. A little coaching from Colleen has really fine tuned my blogs.  Yes I have been told I think quite differently, I think that is what makes me a great trainer.  Change....yes I have changed so much this year, we all have and we have had too.  Change is good, actually it's awesome and inevitable, I would rather go with the flow than fight.  We fight hard enough in real estate.  Happy Easter Sally!  Yes I am addicted as well.

04/08/2007 09:11 PM by Midori Miller-Daytona Beach Florida Real Estate Trainer (CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty)

The sunlight heart is awesome.  Like the post Midori, it's amazing how in such a short time (less than a year) ActiveRain has become such a intrical part of my life...business and otherwise.

04/16/2007 06:39 AM by Midori Miller-Daytona Beach Florida Real Estate Trainer (CENTURY 21 Sundance Realty)

Midori, you get it!  You will never see through the same eyes again.

I had an awakening to the world around me only a few short months ago.  While the sadness and pain of the world now surrounds me, I have never felt more alive

Everyone reading this should also know that you have been so kind to donate the radio time you were awarded to help the Kott family in California find a bone marrow match for their 6 month old son Trevor!  I am so touched by the way you reached out an offered to help them.

Paying it forward you are my friend.... and doing it well I may add!

04/16/2007 09:31 PM by Julie Ferenzi (RE/MAX Professionals South)

Julie-As I respond to your comment, I again am overwhelmed with emotion. So many of us are blessed with love, joy and fulfillment in our lives. I feel for those who are not!  The world is a much bigger place than we sometimes care to admit.  I have recently been so inspired to make a difference on this planet, not the U.S. but the planet.  People such as yourself and Rocky Turner have really opened my eyes.  For that special gift I thank you!  You my friend are the inspiration, you are really something special!  My motto this year is different, it's what I live by," Transforming lives one person at a time!"

Midori - nice post.....however, the title makes me think tom cruise and nicole kidman..... well, your name does something similar, as i'm sure you know... ;)   ron

05/08/2007 10:49 AM by Ron Lipscomb (EXIT Realty)

Ron-Made you look, right?  Yes I knew when I chose the title that people would read.  As far as my name, well which one were you thinking?  The drink, the pianist, the skater, the star, the adult entertainer.  Yes I know and heard of them all!  Midori, though means green in japanese and is quite a common name.  Thanks for dropping by and commenting.  This is one of my favorite post!
