Russell Shaw is the man! I first became exposed to him on panels at NAR. It's awesome to be able to follow him on BloodhoundBlog.

He is one of a kind... always good tips. Sellers need good Realtors who can help them get the job done.

Hi Jo-Anne...Russell has a Large Team in Arizona and is selling somewhere around 600 homes a year, a regular contributor to Star Power and Bloodhound Blog, he believes in teaching others what he has learned for Free, go to Russell's Web Site.

Well....I worked for Help-U-Sell at one point and I will say that the one in our area isn't doing as well as it was, but that office is not a product of a discount brokerage problem....I now work for a company that does reduced commission on our listings and I can honestly say I do as much if not more than a 3% commission agent....the only difference may be that I don't spend a million dollars on print ads....but everything else I do....

Hi Sonia......The issue I see is with discount Commission business models is the lack of funds to market and sell a property. Certainly over a longer period of time, and usually I do not see well priced Listings with discount brokers. Most of the discount Realtors here make their living as Selling Agents as we offer a higher commission then they can recieve selling their own listings. A local company called 1% realty in August only Sold 32% of their own listings. They offer far less services then full service Realtors here, with little to no effective advertising and marketing, no lock boxes, office support staff to answer inquires, we have to leave message on the Realtor voice mail on their cell phones and only offer .05% on a selling Commission on their listings. None of this is near the same level of service we a full service Realtors can offer Sellers, in fact in August our office along Sold 62% of our Listings.
