VDOT - Charlottesville Virginia

While driving near Charlottesville Virginia on Hwy 64 there is a little turn-out worth stopping at to take a look at the view (see above photo I took today).

There is more to this stop than just the view. This is the VDOT Workers` Memorial....

see below:

NOTE: No public funds were used to build this memorial.

It is really a sight to see and we are proud that it is located close to our small town of Crozet and Charlottesville in the center of Virginia!

Hi Charles!  I've always wondered where the money came from to build the memorial.  The view from there is absolutely breathtaking!

Charles that is truly a beautiful scene.  We tend to foget that many have lost their lives while trying to maintain the highway, the memorial is a great reminder.

Hi Charles,

Thanks for reminding us to think about the folks who put their lives on the line everyday.

Nice looking memorial we do take the highway workers for granted. Slow down in work zones should be common sense but not everyone does.

We pass this spot all the time on our way to SC Charles.  It is a great view and a nice tribute to the workers that keep our roads safe to drive on.
