This past month eBay announced, as part of it's Community Counts campaign, that
Lumberton, NJ 08048 was it's most active community in the USA on a per capita basis.
It was based on trading activity within ZipCodes during the first three weeks in November 2006.

During that three week period that eBay used to calculate the rankings, Lumberton Township had more than 46,000 listings that originated from it's 08048 ZipCode, involving more than 3,000 eBay members. "It is hard to pinpoint a reason for eBay's popularity in Lumberton. The members here, by and large, are the mom-and-pop auctioneers who drove the site's early success and not full-time sellers who make their living on eBay, the company said."
