Neville Public Museum: Art and the Animal Exhibit Review

It turned out to be the perfect day to take the family to the museum.  It was dark and overcast and sprinkled throughout the day  It also ended up being a great day to see the exhibit at the museum. There was a live animal exhibit where children could interact with a wide variety of animals.  My little man had the opportunity to play with a snake while Mom and Dad watched.   Neither of us are  fans of snakes, but we don't want to prevent Matthew from them just because we are scaredy cats!  My little man was filled with excitement especially when he saw the tarantula spider and the huge toad.  He said, "Daddy, what's this?" and I almost jumped out of my shoes.  Oh yeah, Daddy's afraid of spiders too.

I was really excited to see the Art and the Animal Exhibit.  It is a grand collection of paintings and sculptings of animals. A funny thing happened when I was using my blackberry to take pictures of the paintings.  Without even thinking I was just going nuts-click here, click there.  Then a lady who worked there taps me on the shoulder and says, "Sir, you cannot under any circumstances take any photography of the art in here."  It makes perfect sense, but I was just excited to get you guys pics of the exhibit.  I tried!

The only disclaimer that I have about the Art and Animal Exhibit is I would not recommend it for children under the age of 5.  My little man was extremely excited, but that really nice gal who caught me sneaking pictures was following him like a hawk.  It's just not interactive enough for a 3 year old in my opinion.

The art, however, was really stunning and extremely worthwhile to see.  The exhibit ends on November 2nd so you still have plenty of time to check it out.
