With many of us agents and Americans making our livelihood from the coasts, offshore drilling would definitely have a long term effect on the viability of our markets.  Here is some additional news on offshore drilling and the Outer Banks.

With the House passing yesterday's bill to allow offshore driling, how will that change the landscape of our coasts? For many who own vacation or investment homes in places like the Outer Banks, it is a Hot Topic. How will home prices in this market react to the news? I think you are correct in your suggestion that there are a lot of variables involved in offshore drilling. Everyone would do best to educate themselves on this issue rather than basing their thoughts on what they are told by someone on television.
