This market update is for all price ranges, and provides a snapshot of Washington DC and several "close
in" cities. The market continues to show large inventory of unsold properties and relatively low volume of homes under contract indicating a strong buyers' market. With interest rates dropping in the last weeks because of aggressive federal intervention to rescue Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the time is ripe for all categories of buyers, especially first time home buyers with reasonably good credit scores.
