You Have A Lousy Attitude!!!

By

Welcome to this weeks installment of Differentiation 101!  Last weeks topic discussed the importance of "Getting Local" as a way of differentiating yourself from the competition.  Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!

This week I will focus on ATTITUDE.

The way you look at yourself as an active participant in an industry that gives you the opportunity for unlimited earning potential is A#1 to your success!

Have you checked your attitude lately?  We all know that we've been in a bit of a tough market- in a climate such as this it's easy to get frustrated, nervous and just plain BLUE!

The key is not to bring it to the workplace.  Sometimes easier said than done.  When I first started out in this business, I used to think that I could turn my attitude on and off like a faucet.  I was wrong.  Co-workers, current clients and new prospects could see right through the facade.  I was only fooling myself.

I got lucky and realized it!  So how do you get around the inner turmoil?!

GET BACK TO BASICS, NOW!

If you've been in this industry for a while, think back to when you were the most successful.  What were you doing?  What were you reading?  Who were you networking with?  When you sit back and think hard about what brought you success, I'm willing to bet that you may not be doing some of the same things you were doing earlier.

IMPORTANT QUESTION, but a tough question to face up to and answer honestly...

Do you still like doing what you are doing for a living?

If not, it may be a good time to look for another line of work.  I know this sounds harsh, but it's near impossible to have a great attitude and be successful at anything if you don't truly love what you are doing.

Your attitude will help define how successful you are in anything you do.  You can change your attitude, though!  It's not impossible!  Fall back in love with what you do for a living!

I would like to read some comments from new folks in the industry as well as veterans as to what you've done to bolster your attitude and keep it consistent.  I think it would help everyone!

See you all next week!  Sell!  Sell!  Sell!  List!  List!  List!

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

Thanks for you thoughts -- attitude is key to everything we do in life, and it's legitimate to ask if one is "happy" in one's line of work.
