The importance of EDUCATION is in taking action!  (Yeah, "I know...")

What moves you and your business?  In my business coaching firm we have well defined points of culture that guide the company and the coaches...and they're spot on for quality, accuracy and results!  I hope they inspire you to evaluate your own culture and perhaps, if necessary, create or renew your own!

Our seventh point of culture is EDUCATION.  I think we all know what education means...but what good does a whole bunch of knowledge do if we don't USE it?  In real estate, there are hundreds of wonderful hard copy and on-line sources that can make us exceptional experts in the field...and I'd much rather do business with an expert than a coaster.  In law, some attorneys stand out because they are up on the latest cases, strategies, etc.  But what sets the great ones apart from the rest?  It's what they do with that knowledge.  Keep reading...I'm hopeful this will be useful info...

"I learn from my mistakes. I consistently learn, grow and master so that I can help my fellow team members and clients learn, grow and master too. I am an educator and allow my clients to make their own intelligent decisions about their future remembering that it is their future. I impart practical and usable knowledge rather than just theory."

Two things really stand out for me in that point of culture.  First, I value the school of hard knocks.  I am not afraid of failure because I know I'm going to learn something in the process...something that I can share with my clients to save them from making the same mistakes (parents...sound familiar?).  Second, I like to impart "practical and usable knowledge".  I love a good motivational speech, but if I don't take away some tools at the end of the speech, I've just wasted my time.  My goal is to make sure every client meeting and every workshop I put on is valuable from a DO SOMETHING WITH IT perspective!

What does education mean to you?  To continue with this point of culture, I'd love to have your perspective...for my own educational benefit.

Some of our other Points of Culture (the ones I've covered so far):

Committment; Ownership; IntegrityExcellence; Success

What moves me to have a passion for my business (this may sound corny) is helping people -let me explain: Instead of just Approving or denying a loan application -I follow up with a conversation to try to educate them on how they can make their credit and budget better so that they can reach that goal of homeownership or a lower rate a lot faster with more peace -instead of the turmoil most people get into when they try to purchase above their means. Unfortunately, a lot of folks never take that advice so they never take action.

Business advice and useful information. Not always "on point" with mortgage lending or real estate...but that's BIG business, and knowing how to operate effectively is critical to success.
