This REALTORĀ®'s Dream Car

Lately, folks in the office have been talking about what type of vehicle a real estate agent should be driving.  Many of the agents in the office say that we must drive a luxury vehicle, such as a BMW or a Mercedes Benz.  Others have said that a luxury vehicle is exactly the wrong type of vehicle to drive, if you want to attract the average working person as your client.  Many people strive for a luxury vehicle, while others disdain them.  Many potential clients will not do business with a real estate agent that drives a luxury vehicle.

I just saw my dream car at the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Exposition at the Anaheim Convention Center.  It is a SUT (Sport Utility Truck).  It is large enough to carry 4 passengers to view property, and it also has a truck bed that is more than adequate for all the open house signs and other real estate stuff I need to haul around with me.  It is made in America, so the company is creating jobs for Americans.  It uses no gasoline, so no money is spent to buy oil from foreign countries.  The jobs and the money stay in America.  It is the Phoenix Motorcars SUT all-electric car.  This all electric vehicle has a range of 100+ miles and a top speed of 95 mph, more than adequate for all my real estate travels.

Automobiles can say a lot about the person who drives them.  Since my niche is green living, including energy efficiency in the home, it would reinforce my image to my "green" clients.  This vehicle would enhance my image, reduce my contribution to global warming, and save me a lot of cash when gasoline moves up to $4 a gallon.

Now, I just need to save enough money to buy my perfect REALTOR®'s dream car.

Phoenix Motorcars website is:  www.phoenixmotorcars.com.

Sounds good, Bob.  How much is this dream car selling for?

Joan, this year's model will cost about $45,000.  It is a limited run production of only 500 vehicles.  Next year they are going to build 6,000 of them, so I am hoping the price will be less.  They are also planning to build a small SUV electric vehicle in 2008, with similar performance, that will be priced in the $30-40000 range.  They also are going to offer a range-extension option that will increase the range to over 250 miles between charges.

Bob~

Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Oh BOY!!!! SHZAmmmm! Ican see myself sailing down the road in fuel efficient happiness like a swan on a placid lake....! Have you seen the movie, "Who Killed the Electric Car"?...Now it may be coming back to life! I want to know if the inside of this vehicle has a console big enough to hold all of my real estate stuff..maps, notepads, trail mix, ..you know all the essentials...

JaneAnne, the console is plenty big enough.  The front has two bucket seats, with some type of console in-between, while the back is a bench seat for 3 people, as I recall.  The shift knob has 3 settings:  F, N and R, for Forward, Neutral and Reverse.  There is no transmission, no gearbox and no reason to shift gears when moving forward.  It comes standard with air conditioning, heater, stereo, electric windows, etc.  A GPS navigation screen would be an option that would cost more.

I'm holding my breath for a solar powered car. But how is the government going to tax it?
