For those of us who live in the Westside of Duval or Clay traffic can sometimes be less than desireable. Especially with all the construction to resolve the problem. So here is the latest information to help dissolve traffic jams.
Brannan Field Chaffee Road also known as State Road 23 serves as a route to eliminate traffic on Blanding Blvd. And it does, but it is in the process of getting much better. As many of you know there is road construction going on with SR 23, but no one can figure out why they picked the middle of nowhere to start. With the sections between Argyle Forest and 103rd already widened to four lanes, funding is being seeked for the rest.
The latest construction began approx. at the beining of March 2007 on the Trail Ridge Road widening. An overpass is projected for Trail Ridge Rd to continue onto Blanding Blvd letting out just a couple of miles north of Old Jennings Rd.
As the widening of SR23 continues into Clay County a new 2-lane overpass bridge on Plantation Oaks Blvd is being constructed to carry Plantation Oaks Blvd traffic over the Branan Field-Chaffee Expressway. No access to Branan Field-Chaffee Expressway will be provided. This will provide some odd 11,000 residents of Oakleaf Plantation with an easier, much safer trip to the new Oakleaf School, and Club Facilities.
