I spend quite a lot of time reading and commenting in the greater blogosphere (a.k.a. outside Active Rain). These blogs can provide perspectives that we in the real estate industry may not always hear. It would be an unwise mistake to assume that the presentation of consumers by the print and television news media is accurate. If anyone understands how these two traditional forms of media can skew things for their own purpose, it is the real estate industry. We should also remember that as bloggers, we are a part of the "new" media. This new media is very powerful and continues to grow everyday in the effectiveness of message delivery.
I wanted to present a few blogs that I have come across in the greater blogosphere that give diverse perspectives on the current situation with the financial markets. The only criteria I used is for the current (or relatively current) post to be about the current financial markets and that the blog be in English. Please keep in mind if you visit any of these websites that they are put out into the greater blogosphere because the writers want to be a part of the discussion. The writers welcome comments and provide a place for you to put your name (or pseudonym), your e-mail (which remains private), and you blog or website URL for backlinking. This is an opportunity to give real estate industry input and perspective.
