I moved here January 2003 from Newburgh, NY.  I immediately fell in love with the beautiful scenery, the geourgous lake and of course the Friendly locals.  I met my Husband here on Smith Mountain Lake.  He moved here from Florida, so you can say we "met in the middle"! 

We love watching the sun sets over the lake.  Taking moonlight rides on the boat, driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the activities this great area has to offer.

We love the mild winters.  Last winter we had one snow storm that was melted the next day!  I remember those NY winters just too well and certainly don't miss them.
