Foliage 2007 c j tuscanoWell summer is coming to an end and the air is getting crisp. Frost is predicted over much of the State of New Hampshire again tonight.

Once we experience a frost here the trees begin to demonstrate their magnificent color transformation. The foliage typically marches from our Great North Woods on the Canadian boarder south over the White Mountains then into our Lakes Region and Manadnock Region and finally east to our Seacoast.

The foliage season lasts about three to four weeks but is one big reason I love living here in New Hampshire more than anywhere else in the good old USA.

Foliage season is a show of the gentle side of Mother Nature's beauty. The dull green leaves begin to change to hues of orange, yellow, gold and red.

Many people plan trips to the mountains to peep at the foliage. Some will enjoy the foliage as a side note to their trip to one of the many country fairs taking place in September and ending with my favorite, the Sandwich Fair over the Columbus Day weekend in October.

If you've thought about visiting New Hampshire, this may be the best time of year to make your trip. You will not regret seeing this display of natures best.

If you are planning to purchase property in New Hampshire, I would love to help you get acquainted with our magnificent state.

I too love the colors and I love to take thousands of pictures whenever I can.

I just can't stand raking them up.

I hope the leaves are pretty up at the Mount Washington this week. I know we won't be anywhere near peak but I'm hopng for some colors anyway.

Looks like Columbus Day weekend will be peak time.

Jay - if you wait long enough to rake the snow may cover them. lol

Moni - I bet you'll see quite a bit more than you expect. Once the frost sets the leaves the color seems to burst right out. I already am noticing color around here. Have a great week at the convention and remember that even though we can't be there for your installation we are with you in our hearts. Congratulations.

Judy as I said on Monika's blog I can't believe that it is this time of year again.  I love the way the trees work when they turn color, but I don't like the mess when they come down.

George - leaf blowers do make the job of picking them up a bit easier if you can take the noise. I think a vacuum would be better. lol

James - I also grew up in the greater Boston area and my folks would have a get away from the 5 kids, dog & cat weekend every fall just to go to NH and VT to leaf peep. Do you think it was the leaves that motivated them???? lol

This is my favorite time of year...the crisp air, cool mornings, warm afternoons.  I love apple picking, and baking apple crisp!  I love pumpkins, you just can't have too many.  The colors of Fall are everywhere and it is the most beautiful time of year.

Judy, I always enjoy seeing the magnificent colors that the Eastern states like New Hampshire offer in the Fall. While still in the mid 80's our smaller scale display of colors here in CA have not yet turned. What a great way to spend a Sunday in New Hampshire looking at homes for sale and savoring the colors popping out all over. And of course, having Judy Tuscano represent you buying and selling a house.

Cherimie - It truly is the most beautiful time here in NH.

Gena - I lived in CA for a short time in the early 90's and the thing I missed most about home was the fall colors. You are so kind with you compliments. Thank you.
