peace

There is power in collective action!

In conjunction with the United Nation's International Day of Peace, Yoga practitioners all over the world will join in the world wide Global Mala Project.

The purpose of the Global Mala is to unite the global yoga community from every continent, to form a "mala around the earth" through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108.

A mala is a circle of 108 beads which may be used in meditation.

In the greater Nashua area, you can experience the healing and unifying power of yoga and mediation practices by attending workshops taught by 21 teachers.

There will be an array of practices from traditional yoga for adults and kids to laughter yoga.  You can see the entire list of teachers and the schedule at Yoga Caps.

Among the teachers will be Terry and Ajay Gupta, the owner of Yoga Caps and my Yoga teacher, Ginny Jackson, who will be offering a workshop in Somatics.

     When    September 21, 2008

Where: UUnitarian Universalist Congregation, 20 Elm St., Milford, New Hampshire.

Donations:  can range from $11.00 to $108.00 -- workshops plus a healthy lunch.

Benefit -  Proceeds will go towards providing whole foods (veggies, fruits, nuts, dried fruits) to the Nashua Soup Kitchenthrough the India Association of NH's service committee and to support free yoga and meditation classes to those with a current or past diagnosis of cancer.  Moving Spirit ~ the Center for Yoga, Dance and Wellness will be collecting Pennies for Peace.

Hi Joan, this sounds like a great event that could offer some great life changing opportunities.  I wished I knew more about yoga, it seems to be a way of life once started.  Nice post Joan.

Bill~  I know there is going to be an event in Boston on Sunday.  I'll try to add the link to it a little later today.  It should be a great celebration.

Gary~ The weather here today is beautiful. I think that yoga is really catching on -- They have some "Power Yoga" classes which a lot of the men like.  It does give one balance, focus and peace in their lives -- I think you would like it.  Thanks for your kind words.

Debbie~    I do enjoy yoga.  It is a great "time out" and a wonderful way to relieve the stress that comes with this challenging market.  I think you would enjoy yoga.
