Curb Appeal

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

I am amazed on how many vacant homes I see day to day with lawns that are out of control.  When I drive by a home for sale that has a lawn that hasn't been cut for two months, I wonder what else has not been done maintenance wise in the home.  In addition, I am surprised by how some realtors see lawn maintenance of their listings as an expense, when they should really be looking at lawn maintenance as an investment.  A nicely cut lawn is more inviting to potential clients, than having to walk through weeds to get to the front door.  In addition, if the realtor has to take care of the lawn in order for the home to sell, this is a simple legal business write-off.  The photos below are a lawn of a vacant home I recently mowed.  The difference was incredible.

You definately went above and beyond, but it could make the difference between selling the home and not selling the home, so well done.  I hope you had a rider mower, that is a HUGE lawn!

Hello Rick- I wanted to stop by and welcome you to ActiveRain. This will be a great tool for building your business.

I think a lot of the unkept yards are due to short sales and REO's. The pride of ownership isn't there in these situations. As agents we have to decide if it is worth the work....let us know when you sell it!
