As the market crashes and burns the divorce rate is going through the roof!

I`ve never seen it so bad in my entire life! I`m 50 years old, i`ve seen Families Come Apart  couples separate or divorce at an alarming rate. They`re fighting over money issues! Let`s be honest when "times are good" we love and laugh, we enjoy life and what it offers. many of us have raised  our families never really knowing or understanding the "good times" would one day end. We were on a euphoric high for 20 years, enjoying our lavish lifestyles.

In some ways it`s like the "last days of the Roman Empire!

Suddenly, were all faced with the reality the good times may never be the same and the problems of finance are taken it`s toll on everyone.

Here are 3 "Real Life Stories" of the how Real Estate Crisis is destroying the entire core of our nation!

Case #1: Yesterday, I took my daughter to Denny`s. Our waiter who was only 18 years old started talking to us about his parents. His family is losing their home to foreclosure, Dad moved in with his Mother, unable to work any longer, while Mom can`t pay the bills. He`s a caught in between. Too be this young and experience what he`s going through is heart breaking.

Case #2:Stock Broker and Trophy Wife: 2 months ago am at a listing appointment where the husband once was on the "top of the world" great home, a Mercedes and a BMW! The kids were at a fancy New York State Summer camp, and the Stock Brokerage files for Bankruptcy!

Good Bye great world hello reality. Husband seems to be explaining to Trophy Wife that we need to "Scale Back" and regroup, wife wants Nothing to do with this utter nonsense, after 18 years of a fantasy Life, she doesn`t want to to end, so it`s much easier to file for Divorce.

In front of me she tell~s how  Hubby is is a "LOSER", nice huh? The guy worked his arse off for this Princess....The Prince becomes a frog and she wants to bail...

Case#3: After working together for a piece of "The American Pie" i received a call from a former client asking me to "Sell" their home. Apparently, the home is upside and rather than attempt to keep it, the husband blames the wife, she blames him and in a flash moves out of the house with the kids and moves in with her new boyfriend.

Hubby is left in shock, unable to grasp the situation. Can`t say I blame him!

The media would never really report how much this is affecting our nation. It`s painful to say the least seeing this each and everyday.

In years to come I`m sure they`ll release the numbers of divorce rates throughout our country, am positive it`s staggering!

I miss the "GOOD TIMES!"

I know that we have become the doom and gloom guys, but you speak the truth. All of this is tearing families apart. I pray for relief soon!

RW,

Not Doom and Gloom, I`m seeing Life through the masses of people who are affected by this mess! Histrory will one day report about the "Chain of events" but, not now! They media wants to quell this situation and pretend life is still GRAND!!

Scott, Kind of interesting because I read recently that couples are staying together more because the know they can't sell their largest asset, the house. I'm sure its a "War of the Roses" kind of thing but funny how things work out in life sometimes.

RI,

many couples are having marital issues relating to the economy. It`s easier to walk than to talk it over and work it all out..

Hey, Scott. Well they say that money is the biggest reason for divorce. So I guess they go hand in hand. I hate to hear this. Take Care, Jim

Scott~ It is so sad to see so many families being torn apart.  The economy does play a huge part in it.  When finacial troubles set in, some couples just can't handle it.

Scott, good posting. It's so true, makes you wonder what happened to integrity, respect, for better for worse?..., remember that children are affected the most.

It's tough for everybody in a financial downturn, it affects just about every industry.

How about setting our priorities straight; after all the market will come back.

This is very sad. When things get tough economically that is the time for families to pull together -- not rip each other apart. Our 2 cents.

Amazing how people let others influence them. As Brian Buffini says, show me your friends, I'll show you who you are.  Let's hope they find happiness somewhere.

It's a Good Life!

Scott I agree, I am seeing more and more couples going separate ways, so sad but very true!

How true and how very sad, for everyone.  I am seeing the same theme, a good friend of ours, 2nd wife, had everything, when his business went down, he wanted to scale back, sell her vet and try and coast , she said no, he killed her, and then himself..But not before he sestroyed everything he owned. We were all in shock as this was so out of character, you just don't know what is happening to families.. We are a nation in a crisis in more ways than one.  AJ

Scott, Financial stress causes lots of problems including divorce, illness and suicides. I have had one of my preforeclosure sellers be hospitalized 3 times already for stress related to losing her house. It's terrible to watch these things happen to good people.

Why is it that people are always shocked when the "trophy wife" trades you in for a better trophy?  Isn't that what the guys brag about regarding their hunting trips?  Yeah, buddy, I passed on that 4 pointer and look at this!  Or, that was a whimpy little fish, so I through it back to let it grow up!

Gold Diggers and Trophy hunters have a lot in common!

Gold diggers will always be gold diggers. However it is tough out there. With less money on hand couples are forced to stay home and be together. I think we became a world of passing in the night and not spending quality time together with thw ones we love. Now times are tough and money is tight. it is easy to fall apart during these times. Sad.
