In the Long Island Town of Huntington on the famous North Shore of Long Island is a small and very private treasure trove of  beauty called Bay Hills Long Island New YorkFeng Shui Consultants often find their own reflections in Nature and arriving early one morning for a Feng Shui Consultation in Huntington, Laura Cerrano and I had a few minutes to spare.

Just up the road from our clients home was a lovely little beach, private for the residents of Bay Village.  It was a warm, sunny day, the night after an awful storm but we were blessed with sunshine and enough time to stop and capture the beauty.

You might know about Huntington Long IslandOne of it's most famous residents is none other then Billy Joel (who I am CONVINCED will one day be persuaded to sing a song for ActiveRain :) Billy Joel  Another is singer Harry ChapinThe famous medium John Edward also hails from Huntington.  It is not at all difficult to see whey they get their creativity and inspiration.

Carole,

This looks like the kind of place I would feel completely at home in...gorgeous. Your beautiful writing coupled with Laura's lovely photos paints a wonderful picture of Huntington. I didn't realize that Harry Chapin was from there....he's one of my all time favourite musicians.

Hi Carole,

Nice, reminds me of home, I grew up in Kings Park about 20 minutes from there.  Whenever I go back, I have to go see the water, just to get reconnected.  I love the smell of the salty air.  I live in Atlanta now and really appreciate the beauty and peacefulness of the Long Island sound.  Thanks for posting.

Hi Carole ... Thanks for the terrific pics.  There is nothing like staring out at the ocean!  I often comment how I love the mountains and green of upstate, but I do miss the ocean.

Jo, The place is gorgeous isn't it?  It's a private beach for the members who live there but they didn't seem to mind us at all :)

Fred, Some pretty wonderful people came from Huntington, it is a beautiful place on Long Island.

Sally, Oh I think  you'd feel very much at home here :)  I guess Islands all have their own special places and I'd love to see Hawaii as well....you lived in New York??

Cristal, My daughter is better with the camera then I'll ever be!  I can't imagine if we actually learned how to use the features on it :)

Christopher and Stephanie, It is a lovely little town.  This is right near an old whaling town called Cold Spring Harbor which is also lovely.

Liz, Thank GOODNESS I did and many thanks to ACTIVE BRAD for his kindness in helping me!  I was afraid I'd be showing photos in the winter!!  Thanks BRAD!!

Paddy, Huntington Village is just down the road from here and it's an amazing place---there is ALWAYS something going on!  If I could afford it, that's the town on Long Island I would live in.

Kathy, The Book Revue is there as well....last year Carolyn Kennedy was there for a book signing and John Edward has been there as well.  They are open at night and pet friendly :)!

Jen, Thanks for stopping by, a former New Yorker :)  Long Island has some really special places which is why we put up with these taxes!  I hope you love Atlanta, I'm sure you do!

Marie, I miss the mountains and love when I get off the Island and get to see some.  But in the summer I need a beach nearby....I love the blue waters and salty air too.

Fernando, Don't give her a big head :)  She is talented in many areas and she, too is waiting for you to come to New York  <--hint, hint.

Joan, It's cold here already and it's summer!  We didn't have those "dog days of summer" at all and according to the Farmer's Almanac are supposed to have one frigid winter....can you imagine the heating bills?

Deborah, I know, it's a shame.  And also a shame that he really didn't become famous until after his death.  But maybe John Edward will pick up on him one day :)

Kim, It was gorgeous.  It has gotten cold here and rain, a nor'easter.  Definitely not a good time to be there right now but we had a gorgeous day.
