You are a High-Risk Gambler in today's Real Estate IF....

Roulette Wheel

Your home-for-sale has not been blinged-out by a professional Real Estate Home Stager.

Are you one of those people?  Are you gambling with your home and taking undue risk? Ask yourself the following questions and we will see if you qualify as a High-Risk Gambler:

  •          Has your Real Estate property been on the market for too long?

  •          Does the only solution your Realtor give you involve ‘dropping your price'?

  •          Are you losing more money while waiting for your home to Sell?

  •          Did  you skip the professional Home Staging step because it costs money?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you are a High-Risk Gambler in the world of today's frustrating real estate marketplace.   If you think I am kidding you, I am not.  Look around.  See what your competition has to offer.  Smart home sellers are making a better effort to give their home-for-sale the marketing ‘edge'.

Yes, it will mean shelling out some cash.  This is a classic example from the basics of making money:

It takes money to make money!

If you insist on being a Gambler and taking risk with selling your real estate, at least play the game by learning a few rules to increase your odds of winning.

Tune into my next Blog where I discuss turning the tables and creating the ‘House Advantage'.

Increase House Odds

Warm Regards-

Kathleen: Very clever use of 'high stakes gambling' tie in to home staging (or not home staging). This is a great post and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Hello Michelle!  : )  Thanks...I have been meaning to get back into the swing of blogging and had this subject in mind.   At this time in the financial markets, the term 'risk' is important to consider!  I think it might be a theme for me to write about for the next few blogs.  I will also write one for SIF with regards to risk and rewards when choosing and hiring professional Home Stagers.  There IS a difference!!

Hope you are doing well my friend!  Regards-Kathleen G

PS-Looks like I have to catch up a bit around here! I better take some time to 'bling' out my little blog!

Kathleen: the sad part is some people are willing to loose their "shirt" house before they think to call the stager.  Call us first!  Great post!

Hello Marci- YES, your comment is true.  I wanted to start my thoughts with this simple blog and build up to the dollars and 'sense' of what risk is involved when homeowners penny-pinch in the wrong areas.  The next blog will have more meat to chew on!!  : )  Regards-Kathleen G

Great Post especially with the economy and all the problems. Unfortunately people are scared and so they are afraid to make the investment in staging that ultimately will PAY OFF!

Hello Leah!  Thanks for commenting....I have already started the second post for this subject and am working on the fine tuning!!  With the way things are going financially for many, not staging their homes is similar to gambling against the odds! Right??  Stay tuned.....Regards-Kathleen G

Hello Phyllis!  How are you doing? I totally hear what you are saying about people being afraid to invest in staging their real estate.  The next post will be a fun twist on the concept of gambling with your home.  Time to get back my mojo and write with more creativity now!  Finding new angles to illustrate the economic value of staging is important these explain these days so I will give it a good go!!  Thanks for stopping by!  Regards-Kathleen G

Kathleen, Clever & accurate post!  The benefits of staging far out weigh the costs.  Too bad people are willing to gamble with one of their biggest investments.  I look forward to #2 in the series.

Great analogy and very timely with the economic state as it is.  It is really too bad that fear keeps people from making smart choices.

I love your analogy in this blog and your words are so true! I can't wait to read the follow up.

Thank you ladies!  Today I returned a call to a potential client who feels in dire straits with her home.  She and her husband need to place their home on the market and desire a quick-as-possible sell.  This particular client was concerned about the cost to hire me, yet, knew that she was unable to reproduce the level of professional home staging I would give her.

I offered her a few options and we came to an agreement.  This seller understood that the investment for home staging was going to greatly increase her odds of being successful in selling her home sooner!

All of us understand where things are in the economy and know that real estate is one area which is a roll of the dice if your home does not look better then the competition.

My followup 'House Advantage' blog will better illustrate where I am going with this line of reasoning....and hopefully will give Realtors and Homeowners a new angle to think about when deciding whether to commit to Home Staging or not!   Regards-Kathleen G

Excellent post, Kathleen.  Given the market conditions, it's so critically important to not leave it to chance or to "gamble."  Looking forward to the update.

Bling away!
